So I got to looking at the Wook's article on Lord Cronal and there had been some changes that threw me for a loop. I'd go to the talk page there, but it seems to have been archived.........

Anyways, It currently states that Perek (from Star Wars Tales #19) is yet another alias for Cronal. It claims to be a retcon, but I see no source for the retcon. Is there anybody out there who can please guide me to where that retcon was authorized? (When and where did this happen and who said so?)

What we do know is that Cronal is also Blackhole, and sometimes takes the identity of Lord Shadowspawn, sometimes makes a minion take the identity of Lord Shadowspawn, he's a Prophet of the Dark Side, a key figure in the Church of the Dark Side, a Sorceror of Rhand, Hand of the Emperor, Director of Imperial Intelligence, the Emperor's monster maker, father of Sariss, and the list goes on. He also was integral in the lives of Jerec, Carnor Jax, Tuzin Gast, Pic, Gorc, Irek Ismaren, Sate Pestage, the Emperor Reborn, and who knows how many more. (Merili? Maarek Stele? Galen Marek?)

Also, I've got some of my own theories on Cronny that I'd like to bounce of anybody who'd pay attention. For brevity and without going into detail, some of them are:

    1. Set Harth is Cronal.
    2. Cronal is White Eyes.
    3. Atha Prime is a clone of Cronal that Cronal is experimenting with.
    4. Cronal is in league with Arkanian Microtechnologies, BioTech Industries, and members of the Tagge family.
    5. Cronal knows what happened to Domina Tagge.
    6. Cronal and Sedriss QL worked together on the Darktrooper Priject, post-Mohc.
    7. As a Sorceror of Rhand and an agent of chaos Cronal worships entropy and destruction. Creating an army of invincible warriors to bring about the end of the universe is just one of his plans. This explains his fascination with blackhole troopers , weird cloning projects, cybernetics, the darker sides of the Force and much more).

Anybody have any of their own theories? Any of my ideas flat out not possible?

(Apologies if this belongs somewhere else, it's been ages since I've posted and things have changed dramatically since the last time I was here).

According to the last chapter of the book, Geptun's story differs from what was presented in the text.

He removes three things that Luke requests, which consequently weren't in the book -- Aeona as a love interest, Luke's ignorance that what he did would kill the stormtroopers, and Luke cutting off Vastor's arms in a fight. But it was otherwise presented as what Luke read.

The entire premise of the novel is that of an unreliable narrator. It was written by Geptun to sensationalize the Battle of Mindor. That's the entire point of the frame story.

He actually removed these things from the book we read, and then added in the scene where he talked with Luke about what revisions to make? Or he removed these things from another version, a "sensationalized" account which we didn't read?

The best part is when Geptun foreshadows Dark Empire.

    It's like he knew.

Indeed, Cronal is Set Harth, and White Eyes, and Atha Prime, and Luke and Han and Leia too. For the Lord Cronal is in all of us, and we are all Cronal. As was written in the Book of Retconalations, a Great Retcon is coming that will finally acknowledge the truth. That there is no one who Cronal truly isn't! As was written, so shall it be!

Some other ideas: Cronal takes the name "Cronal" because...... 1. He's originally from the House of Cron, the Cron system, and/or the Cronese Mandate. 2. He clones himself so much that he considers himself infinite and immortal (chronal, or living throughout time).

Here's how I heard it from an insider source close to the Imperial Court:

Cronal was originally blue (da ba dee da ba di?), but then he thought that way he contradicts the EU, so he was like, "how do the EU get out this one" and he switched to being a random white dude.

So Cronal is the evil Forrest Gump.... I'm strangely ok with this, for the moment.

Hrmmmm... Blue, eh? I always pictured White Eyes as either Arkanian or part-Arkanian. They ain't blue. (Unless part Arkanian or maybe Umbaran or Velabri, part... Pantoran? Chiss? Darga? ooohhhh Echani? Etti? Ferroan? Galacian? Geran? Icarii [Perek could easily be one of these]? Keshiri? Wroonian?)

(We're supposed to call all blue people Pantorans and pretend that's a real thing.)

That's because George was afraid people would confuse Wroonians, Rodians and Roonans, y'know.

"My theory is that all blue people are Wroonians or closely related to Wroonians." Let the thought police come after me. :p

(Unless, of course, they have red eyes, in which case they're Duros.)
