    Forgive me if this isn't the right place to discuss this topic, but I'm genuinely intrigued by the whole thing. I tried to do all my homework on this one.

    I was really excited to see Captain Fordo from Genndy Tartakovsky's 2003 Clone Wars mini series being remade into a 2008-Present Clone Wars styled figure. Hasbro has been giving away a lot of season secrets by previewing figures of characters that appear later in the season, and spoiling some surprises, such as Boba Fett and Quinlan Vos (sort of). This could only mean one thing to me -- Fordo will be on the show! Right?...

    Anyway, Fordo is included in the latest Arc Trooper battle pack. These battle packs come with cards for each figure to play a roll playing game involving a special dice. On each of these cards, they list the stats for each character for the game, as well as a picture of the character in a scene on the Clone Wars TV show. Fordo's card lists him as "Arc Trooper Commander" (not a captain), and the image showing him looks pretty familiar. Where have I seen it before? Oh yeah.

    [image=http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dglpQtWniwg/TMHqsa6CzWI/AAAAAAAAAII/p370sl6Dh_w/s1600/Fordo_Rex.jpg]
    http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dglpQtWniwg/TMHqsa6CzWI/AAAAAAAAAII/p370sl6Dh_w/s1600/Fordo_Rex.jpg

    There's also no doubt that while he isn't outright named Captain Fordo in the battle pack, his coloring and equipment are identical to Fordo in the 2003 series. His double mini rifles, Arc Trooper heavy rifle, antenna, and gauntlet are a perfect match.

    [image=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_dglpQtWniwg/TMHulxG2azI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/RCO1qcypLn4/s1600/fordo-figure-comparison.jpg]

    (Image of the figure taken from the Jedi Temple Archives)

    So, they Photoshopped a picture of Rex from the "Rookies" episode, since Fordo looks very similar. There's a few possibilities here:

    * Hasbro only had pictures of character models of new characters that would be made into figures, no pictures of a scene, and the cards use scenes, not character models. Fordo will make an appearance.
    * Hasbro knew Fordo would appear but were given no source images to back it up.
    * Hasbro imagined and designed a 2008 CW stylized Fordo themselves and he won't make an appearance in the series.

    While it doesn't look good for Captain Fordo appearing in the new Clone Wars show, there's still a chance. On the other hand, it could just be Hasbro providing some fan service. I know I wanted him as soon as I saw he was being made! Any thoughts?

    Ever since the announcement of that ARC trooper pack, I was expecting a possible episode about those characters (Fordo, Rex, etc...). If he is indeed in the series, that would make my day.

    I never really cared about Fordo, but I do think he will be in the series. He obviously has a large fan following (for some reason), he has had a figure made of him, and he would be an easy repaint as a model.

    Although, I would love to see his armor from S3 of the microseries. I looked pretty cool. [face_hypnotized]

    With the random tiny cameos in this season (Bossk, Embo, Sugi, Delta Squad), I assumed that ARCs would appear in their actual armor, and not their 1.5 phase armor (not that I don't like that armor) but Fordo would make a great addition to the series...

    Please, don't bring him on phase 2 armor. Keep it phase 1.

    That's what I meant. The Phase I Arc troopers were awesome, but not invincilble (like the RCs), which made them the best to see in action

    I feel like Hasbro made him for a reason or they would of just put in the Red or Yellow ARC from Clone Cadets and ARC Troopers in the battlepack. I fully expect to see Captain Fordo sometime this season.

    I was extremely disapointed that Fordo wasn't in the Kamino arc. He better show up.

    If Fordo doesn't show, then that means Hasbro knows the fans better than Lucas. Which is just sad.

    ^And those are B2 battle droids he's killing in droves for force sake.

    Also I would be very pleased if fordo did show up. Better him if not Alpha-17.

    I'm trying to keep optimistic, but the more I think about it, the less likely it seems to me that Fordo will be included. I agree with FistoFan55, Fordo should have been included in the Kamino story arc. One episode was called "ARC Troopers!"

    And after all that, he still tries to retreat. Who is he thinking he is, Grievous? :p

    That would be interesting. Seeing as the last time we see Alpha is being placed on a medship with a "dead" Ventress... Sadly I think that "death" has been retconned.. so where is the fate of Alpha? Anakin seemed to have a attachment to him (i.e. screaming "ALPHA!" when he was injured) so I wonder if they would keep to the comics?

    I can see the jealousy from Rex now :p

    The current Clone Wars series hasn't given us anything near as awesome as that clip of Fordo kicking butt.

    I believe it was simply Hasbro being artistic... it seems by the time this pack was created (planned out/sculpted) that they only had final concept artwork. As such, if Fordo was to appear, he would have done so when the ARC Troopers did...

    I think there is a difference between a cowardly retreat and the necessity for retreat. In ROTS Grievous cowardly retreated (first sign things were going wrong), however in the Micro-Series his retreat was merely a necessity to stay alive (nothing cowardly about that). Also, he didn?t really retreat from Coruscant in any cowardly way either... essentially retreat was always part of the plan...

    but both retreats are.... retreats i didn't talk about cowardism at all- i just corrected the untruth- he does retreat in old series.....old CW has superhero-grievous that just comes and kills everyone he was my least favorite bad guy in that series- ridiculously overpowerful and all -but yes he was not a coward in that.....
