I’m so excited, I loved it’s one S1 Vidions episode, it felt like it had some much potential. They’re saying it’s still Visions, but I’d love for it to eventually become canon in a new time period, especially if the new series is as good or better than that episode. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/The_Ninth_Jedi https://www.cbr.com/9th-jedi-star-wars-visions-anime/
Yeah if I remember right the Ninth Jedi is one of the Visions episodes that could have most easily fit into an Old Republic setting. Don't see why they can't take some of the visions stories that worked the best and fit them into official Old Republic material.
I could see it being in the future too, it's rather open to when it could fit into any canon timeline. Whenever there's a time the Jedi and Sith numbers were both near-zero but not extinct. But anyhow, it's still really awesome to get this! I hope it's a hit.
I CALLED THIS ISH Also i doubt it can go into old republic if they make true on the interview from vol 1 where the director said they wanted to have ahsoka and rey cameos
FANTASTIC! I always felt that one felt more like a pilot episode than the rest of Visions. I've read that the creators intended it to be a generation post-sequels, and while I don't think that's enough time for the knowledge of lightsabers to be lost, I admit like its vibe a lot better than the Legacy comics. EDIT: Here's the official announcement if anyone wants it: https://www.starwars.com/news/visions-presents-the-ninth-jedi
YESSSS!!!! LEEEETTTTSSSS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! *Ahem* I was hoping for this, but I have to admit I really didn't think it was likely. So glad they gave this a chance. And yeah all the shorts of the next volume look interesting as well, whether original or sequel. In particular the Village Bride was my favorite from Volume 1 so it is very cool to see it get a follow up. I am kind of amused we are getting a Smuggler one and a Bounty Hunter one right next to each other in the line up, but in any case it is cool to see non-jedi parts of the verse get more attention this time around. True. I honestly preferred the old republic headcanon for various reasons, and it does seem likely that getting a full series like this means the future aspect of it will be confirmed...but eh, I will definitely take getting more of this series and my headcanon overwritten over not getting more of the show.
It’s set after TROS according to the original press releases. That being said, my initial reaction was SQUEE. Loved Ninth Jedi! (I’ve absently placed it post-Legacy where the Jedi and Sith have decimated themselves.)
I think I’d rather it just be its own universe, not hemmed in by the established canon. That doesn’t make it less important, just separate. Especially since doesn’t the original imply the Jedi have been wiped out yet again? Do we really need that to happen again post-IX?
Nothing stopping you from doing it how you want it, just like nothing stopping the followers of One Canon making everything fit somehow.
The issue is if they make it canon all other stories in the canon timeline would flow from that. I’d prefer we not have this be a keystone of the post-IX timeline. I’d prefer post-IX is about steadily rebuilding the Order and galaxy, rather than leading to another inevitable and tragic massacre and purge of the Jedi. As I said, the story is great, but I don’t think it’d be a good fit for post-IX (maybe a period of decline during the Old Republic).
YESSSSSSSSSS! This is great! I really hope this gets love and views. Also would be great if this became a keystone for a new (post-ST) era.
Can you calm down? You’re throwing ST shade whenever you have the opportunity. Stop it. We already know Ninth Jedi is set post-TROS. We already know it is set quite a long time after. We already know it’s its own universe. You don’t need to take a swipe at the ST along the way.
Yess, maybe they get their wish and we get an older Ahsoka and Rey Skywalker, lol i always saw it being hundred of years post Sequels.
I think setting it thousands of years post ST would be better. Hundreds of years isn't quite long enough to do a completely new setting that has absolutely nothing to do with already established settings.
Liked Sith troops in the original episode, hope that the series will have more great designs for Sith, including ships.
Definitely. There was some great design work there and I am really excited to see what else they might have in store.
Agree, but I was thinking 10,000 years in the future or something. Or maybe while Rey hasn’t started training Jedi yet.
That would work better, but I’d actually prefer we not be told anything after the New Jedi Order. In the spirit of a fairy tale: they all live happily ever after.
I dont think we ever going to get Happy ever after Fairy tale again. ROTJ was that and fans were bad cause that was ruined by Sequels
