The *OFFICIAL* Big Trouble Thread!!!

Big Trouble is a hysterically funny movie. It's a pity that it has only made about 3 million as of this post.

The witty combination of a couple of bumbling hired assassins, two idiot crooks with a twisted sense of humor, lots of squirt guns, pistols, rifles, slippery situations, cops and goats. The goats come later in the movie.

I forgot to mention there's a nuke...it looks like a garbage disposal. There is also a hispanic maid, a guy that looks like Jesus and eats fritos, and a male stipper. Did I mention the goats?

Sounds like fun doesn't it?

I loved it! GO SEE IT!!!

 

I read the book - haven't seen the movie.

Does it have the hallucinogenic frogs in it?

 

I've been waiting for this movie since September. I need to get my butt down to the theater! You know, I've seen almost no publicity for the movie. It's a shame; the book was a total riot - one of the funniest things I've read in a loooong time.

 

yes there are hallucinogenic frogs!!

 

It is a toad, actually and it sits on a pile of dog food and eats it, forcing the family dog (the product of hasty, unplanned dog-sex, and really quite ugly) to eat dirt instead. It also sprays the dog, forcing it to chase after its but and people's groins, thinking that they are steaks.

There is one similar encounter later in the movie, but you'll have to watch the movie to see it.

HINT: "She's coming for my SOUL!!!"

 

SEE THIS MOVIE!!!! It's great!!! There's a homeless guy named Puggy. He lives in a tree, eats fritos and looks like Jesus.

 

There's a really hot latina maid.

 

I remember that I really liked the book. Wonder how the movie'll live up to it.

Nothing Jason Lee's in could be THAT bad though.

Jason Lee plays Puggy? Why wasn't that in the commercials!?

 

My boyfriend and I had 2 hours to kill yesterday so we saw Big Trouble. What a mindless piece of junk!

We would have asked for our money back but we were too embarassed to admit to having paid admission for it in the first place.

By the way there was a total of 3 people in the theatre for the matinee showing. That alone should have given us a clue, together with the l star rating in the newspaper.

 

They shoulda got Kurt Russel like they did for the other one.

 

My newspaper gave it a B, but there were only 2 or 3 other people in the theater...

I loved the movie...I want to see it again.

 

It was ok, nothing hysterical like Sonnenfeld's Get Shorty.

It seemed almost like Sonnenfeld was trying to pay homage to his own style with Big Trouble. Kind of like a cheap imitation.

 

Yeah...but I figure it was worth my money. I nearly busted my gut laughing.
