    There can be no surrender.
    There will be no mercy.
It?s not just the future of the galaxy at stake?
It?s the destiny of the Force.

In the stunning finale of the epic Fate of the Jedi series, Jedi and Sith face off?with Coruscant as their battlefield. For the Sith, it?s the chance to restore their dominance over the galaxy that forgot them for so long. For Abeloth, it?s a giant step in her quest to conquer all life everywhere. For Luke Skywalker, it?s a call to arms to eradicate the Sith and their monstrous new master once and for all.

In a planetwide strike, teams of Jedi Knights take the Sith infiltrators by swift and lethal surprise. But victory against the cunning and savage Abeloth, and the terrifying endgame she has planned, is anything but certain. And as Luke, Ben, Han, Leia, Jaina, Jag, and their allies close in, the devastating truth about the dark side incarnate will be exposed?and send shock waves through the Jedi Order, the galaxy, and the Force itself.

Just put my pre-order in for this today. Should get it in the mail the day of the release. What's really nice is the $10 off you get for doing it that way.

This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of the old FOTJ thread. Soon it will see the end of FOTJ.

On another note it's 496 pages? Huh. I was gonna get the ebook. Now I might spring for the hardcover.

I'm hoping for some serious damage to Coruscant or an epic space battle. Both would be nice.

The Sith attack Ossus?! I'm hoping for some Kam and tionne or some other little-explored Jedi action.

EDIT: THE PREVIEW IS AWESOME! I think this really could be that good.

I should probably get myself to go in expecting a LotF: Revelation and less a TUF so that I can be pleaseantly surprised even if it is mearly "passable by EU standards."

Wow, finally the last FotJ book... and hopefully the last of the nine book series format (that didn't work out too well unfortunately).

As long as they don't introduce the next Chief of State in the last 10 pages, it can't be as bad as Invincible was... though that already sets the bar pretty low. Although I've seen some positive comments from people who have read the book, but after how FotJ has been (in some ways better than LotF, in some ways worse), I... I'm hoping for the best, for a great book, but too cynical to expect much more than decent. Knowing the author, probably some Luke action, but not sure what else. Nice to see Jaina and Jag on a (back)cover, better later than never (although still don't care much for FotJ's cover art style). Now just have to be careful to avoid spoilers for another few weeks.

Here's hoping for a memorable (in a good way) ending.

Just finished reading the preview. You do get a vague sense of what is happening but it is still confusing. Sith or not I'm hoping Vestara survives this book [face_praying].

I'm keeping my expectations low but I'm hoping to be surprised.

So that chapter one preview had one thing that really stood out to me: the man with the tattoos and dark aura that alerted Luke to the Lost Tribe member about to detect Ben and Vestera. Who wants to bet that was a One Sith working to eliminate the competition?

Pretty certain Krayt remains in stasis at this time.

Yeah, but we already know that there are dozens of One Sith running around, infiltrating governments. That was made clear in LOTF.

That part of the novel was incredibly exciting and kind of sort of out of left field in terms of expectation. But a very awesome chapter nonetheless :)

    The story ends, Abeloth's defeated.

Oh, you wanted details? Sorry, got nada. :)

I'll admit to being fascinated to see what happens here, as this book likely has the most demanding task since that given to TUF! There has been talk too of likening it to that book as well. There is, I suppose, a similarity, if Apocalypse is to finish the arc that effectively began in The Joiner King.

All I'll throw in to finish is this: Apocalypse is linked to the end of the world and armageddon in the way its often understood, but how the world ends can be in ways other than the physical. Alan Moore went and did just this in his Promethea series, the apocalypse came and went and the world continued but changed. I doubt anything like that is intended for this book though. Also, just worth considering that Apocalypse means revelation, so what might happen? Haven't the faintest but this thread'll be fun to read.

As far as I know no spoilers have been posted anywhere. But you can read the first page of the first thirty chapters here http://www.randomhouse.com/book/39519/star-wars-fate-of-the-jedi-apocalypse-by-troy-denning.

So, according to one of the chapter's first pages, it mentions Chiss Star Destroyers one Jag's side at Exodo (or was it actual CEDF references, can't remember)

What does that mean for the Empire of the Hand?

    Man, I didn't know Jag was so...short. (Jaina's like, 4'9".)

Wasn't she retconned to be around 5'3 in another source? 4'9 is, like, really short :p

Ace pilots do tend to be shorter, for whatever reason. I could see Jag being about 5'5. Or, if Jaina is really 4'9, he can be Prince's height :D

Major spoiler/snipits gleaned from the amazon.com preview in no real order. Because they are just bits of info I don't know if all of it is right :)
Prepare for Mortis fever. Abeloth, Father, Son, and Daughter were all acquainted it seems. Maybe the places like the Fount of Power and all that were actually on Mortis? I am not sure.
First chapters involve the Jedi sneaking on to Coruscant and wage war against the Jedi Temple...for the hundredth time. Can't the Jedi ever keep their own Temple as a sanctuary? I mean, what faction of Sith or government hasn't conquered it just once?
Jaina Solo become a Master and marries Jag at the end. Oh and Daala might just have been elected head of the Empire...she is at least in the running not sure if she actually wins.
Luke Skywalker is DEAD...or so some people believe and then it turns out he isn't. No surprise there. Jedi relocate to Shedu Maad after being ousted from Coruscant. Wynn Dorvan survives being tortured and remains on as CoS.
I think the Sith are defeated and Vestara runs off with the rest. The only death suffered by the Jedi is Bazel Warv I think, everyone else seems to be alive at the end. Lots of reappearances by old Jedi like that one Arconan Jedi. The Solusars, and the rest of the Council are thrown in there too. Lowie returns with Raynar Thul as the visit the Killiks to learn about Mortis and Abeloth's connection. Apparently Yoda mention Mortis to Luke on Dagobah.
