Any fellas here have a turtleneck? Has anyone been circumsized as an adult? Did it hurt?
Please share any memorable stories about your circumsision or lack thereof.

Smelly you never cease to amaze me. It's funny you brought this up, because I actually have to take my son to the doctor today to have him circumcised again!!! He healed slightly wrong, and some skin needs to be clipped. My wife and I thought he was just in turtle mode all the time because he's usually wet whenever we see his ding ding. Poor kid.

I had a roommate in college who wasn't circumsised and we called him "Sleeve."

When I was circumcised, the anesthesia somehow didn't work.

I'm no longer afraid of death.

I think that it is safe to say that this thread does not belong on the JC.

But I know a place that already has a thread on this subject

I think Smelly's just trying to push the envelope now.

    And like that... he's gone.

I got into an argument with a philosophy teacher recently in my World Religions class, when he started going off on Judaism because one of its major rituals is circumcising infants. I mentioned that I thought it was probably less traumatic and certainly less memorable than if we had to go through it as adults, as some people do. He started yelling about who am I to say what causes trauma, am I a psychiatrist, and so on and so forth, and basically told me that my opinions, what I think, have no legitimacy. So I mentioned to him that about 95% of what he says in the class is opinion, and that his is no more legitimate than mine. He doesn't like me anymore, but he's an extremely smarter-than-thou armchair intellectual who just loves to flaunt how well-read he is and how smart he is even when he's making an ass of himself.

I do have a friend who was circumcised when he was 16. We had some interesting conversations about that.

Also, it was funny in Prague (my friend was on that trip too), when a bunch of American students were going on about how it's a common practice these days, people are usually circumcised as infants as a matter of course, and our Czech teacher walked over and lectured us on how just because something is standard in the US doesn't mean it's standard everywhere. ;)

There is no envelope pushing. My friend who is 31 is having to be circumsized and it inspired this thread. The last thing I want is to be banned again so quit stirring up trouble.

It's so funny that the fecal force is staying but as soon as this pops up everyone's like 'OMG PENIS DELETE LOCK BAN'

Anyway, I'm circumcised, and I don't really know if I'm missing out on anything. But my girlfriend prefers it this way. She thinks uncircumcised penii (laffo) look weird.

Yeah, that's how I feel about it too. I haven't seen an uncircumcised one "up close and personal"; only in pictures, but I think it would be weird if I did.

    Edit...Sorry KJ.

I'm going to allow this thread because it can be a discussion on the process of circumcision and does not need to be sexually related. I know, for the JCC, that could be a first. If it does take a wrong turn, it will be locked so please stick to the topic at hand. Thanks.

Actually, that reminds me. My husband transported a 3 week old this week who lost the plug (or whatever you call it) that stops the circumcision from bleeding. Poor little guy lost a fair amount of blood and had to go to the hospital. :(

If I had a son, I WOULD NOT get him circumsized. It is a cruel, painful, and completely unecessary procedure which often does more damage than good.

Like a good little Jewish boy, I was circumsized when I was 8 days old, so I don't remember it at all.

Mastadge, your teacher is an idiot. Most people that get circumsized, whether Jewish or not, get it done as an infant. The only difference b/w Jews and non-Jews really is that Jews do it in a ceremony performed by a moyle, while non-Jews get it done usually at the hospital when they are born by the doctor.

Cruel, inhumane procedure, that has little medical merit. For the rare case that an older man needs it done, lack of hygiene is often the cause.

Psh. No foreskin=no cleaning when it gets dirty=better.

Doesn't matter if it is a cruel painful procedure. What matters is the result.

There are many painful procedures, surgeries etc...You have to understand that doctors sedate the infant when circumcizing him. Essentially they cannot feel the pain. Well, OK they feel it after the procedure.

I'm not circumsized (like 95% of the UK male population), and I used to get such odd responses when I lived in the USA (where like 95% of males are circumsized).

Girls were either totally freaked out by the concept, or alternatively were extremely interested to see it. It was like I was some museum piece or something.

Anyways, uncut is clearly the better option because it keeps the most sensitive part of the penis covered and protected most of the time. A circumsized penis is unprotected and constantly incontact with the inside of your underwear. Hence it loses an element of sensitivity, and thus loses some sensation using intercourse. So, having a "hoodie" or "turtle-neck" is advantageous.

Oh, and I used to make jokes about using it as a place for keeping quarters ;)
