    What's with all the delays?

It looks like it could be entertaining.

    Bob,
I would go see it but I'll be in Hawaii that weekend. Dang this trip is interfering with everything.

A lot of things delayed this film. One reason was that Miramax did not want this movie to be affected by the aftermath of Gigli which bombed miserably. At the risk of sounding like a spoiler(and I assure you this is not), J Lo is not a major character in this movie. In fact she dies at the beginning. That is the premise of this movie. Ben Afflek is a widower who is raising his daughter by himself, hence the name Jersey Girl. Liv Tyler plays his love interest.

For Kevin Smith Fans, this marks his first major release since Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Although it's set in New Jersey, it's a far cry from the style of his previous Jersey Chronical films.
Despite his claims of this being a completely different film, I will be looking out for possible Easter Eggs in Jersey Girl that will reference his previous works.

But For those of you who still want to see some of Kevins classic work, there is plans for a feature length animated Clerks. Here is a link to some test footage that even Star Wars Fans would like. You will need Quicktime.

For general updated information on other Kevin Smith Productions and appearances, I will open up another thread just for that. This one is for Jersey Girl.

JR, you could always see it when you get back from paradise or you can catch it there. That weekend is going to be super busy - Grandslam - I'll see if I can sneak out to check it out.

I'm really looking forward to this film. I love Ben and Liv. Generally I really like Kevin Smith's films. I think my favorite so far has been Chasing Amy. I never saw Dogma or Clerks....Hmm, is that blaphemous to say here?

It's not--I still haven't seen Mallrats, and it was filmed at the Eden Prairie Mall...I've been there like 5 times and lived 15 min. away from there for 6 years.

    My fave is Dogma.

I loved Dogma, and Clerks is the supposed "quintessential" Kevin Smith film. I've never seen all of it either, but I've seen Chasing Amy (what happened? Affleck looked like he could actually act in that movie???) JSBSB (loved it), the aforementioned Dogma and Portions of Mallrats (I try to see any movie that has Parker Posie in it, but like Clerks, I've never watched a complete showing)
