In his new mantle as Sith Lord, Jacen Solo's dark powers reach a peak as he continues to crush opposition across the warring galaxy and bring his dream of a new order closer to fruition. But those who once fought at his side now turn against him, and as his unexpected enemies rally to the Confederation, Ben Skywalker discovers the full and terrible truth of how his mother died.

That's the Amazon synopsis; interestingly, DR doesn't seem to have released anything more significant than that. I can't find any back-cover blurb. However, the book is coming out in a month and it's time to discuss!

Any one else think this is going to be the empire strikes back of the series?

Could be but I'd be suprised if Caedus didn't get at least one big victory under his belt before the end of the series

I would be surprised if he would get even a small victory. More likely he will suffer a big defeat at the end of Revelation that sets the stage for the endgame in Invincible.

Tiny, tiny blurb from Random House's catalog:

The eighth installment in the new
    multi-volume Star Wars series Legacy
of the Force?starring Luke, Han, Leia,
and the other New Jedi Order heroes
?finds the tide turning against brutal
    new Sith Lord Jacen Solo.

Another tiny, tiny blurb from Chapters:

In this eighth installment of the Legacy of the Force series, Jacen Solo is approaching the height of his dark powers. And no one--not even the Solos and the Skywalkers--knows if anything can stop this brutal new Sith Lord before his plan to save the galaxy ends up destroying it.

    =D= [face_laugh] =D=

In all seriousness, though, I am looking forward to the conclusion of the Fett story arc.

Finding proof isn't the same as people actually listening to him.

Ben: Hey, dad, I found this video recording of Jacen killing mom!
Luke: Ben, the dark side lies, we cannot be sure this recording is accurate.

I'll believe it when I see it. I'm seriously getting to the stage where I feel as if it won't be surprising if even when LOTF is over and Jacen is dead they still haven't worked it out. :p

Ya know, Ben could help his case a LOT if he told someone he saw Jacen and Lumiya talking.

Oh wait, that would actually make SENSE!

This series ticks me right off.

I think this book will set everyone (bar Tahiri) against Jacen considering him a write-off with Jacen falling back on some kind of counter offensive. No more secrets now, right? Allana's heritage is known and now Mara's killer (Nelani, welcome to a one line explanation about your death next book).

Something has to keep the plot going and I think Jacen will use what's left of his powerbase and try something decisive.

I suspect this book will feature Niathal and her GA loyalists splitting away from Jacen and his minions, which would partially explain the space battle on the cover.

I wonder what "training", if any, Boba will give Jaina?

It fine as long as the "training" is not sexual at all? [face_sick]

The question is, what is CAEDUS'S idea of a new order? I hope Caedus kills Zekk, kills Corran Horn, hurts his mother in a mean way, and puts Jag into a coma. This will set things up for Jaina/Caedus in Invincible.

And Ben needs to fight Tahiri. We need some Tahiri/Ben interaction. I'm hopeful fan here.

I am taking even odds on Karen Traviss killing Boba here. I think it's quite likely he'll die in LOTF and, if anything, this is the book it will happen in.

I wish it would be so, but... no. Traviss may give us equivalent what Allston did with Katarn in Fury, but real death for Boba Fett? Very unlikely. Sadly.

I don't know, by initiating a Mandalorian resurgence economically, militarily and its infrastructure, there doesn't seem to be much else he needs to do, as well as building up his legacy as Mandalore (Beviin) and the Fett clan (Mirta). Finding and freeing Sintas would be the last step in any 'redemption' or journey in Boba's life. There just doesn't seem to be any need for him after Revelations in Mandalorian society. Either it could mean he dies or returns to Bounty Hunting, but I don't see him remaining Mandalore after this series.

I would think it more likely that Denning would be the one to kill off Fett in Invincible. I don't think Traviss would do it.

Boba Fett will probably be never killed on-screen or mentioned to have died. There will just be eras where he will appear and later eras where he doesn't make appearances, but no confirmation of his death. Pity, but it probably can't be helped.

Well seeing as Denning's pet has already been killed off he may want revenge and kill off Fett in Invincible lol!

No, in Revelation I'd love to see a bit of continuity (in other words Wedge, Tycho, Tahiri, Saba, etc) and I think this could be Niathal's big book. She will play a very major part I think. Oh, and give Threepio and Artoo something (this won't happen, they weren't even in Sacrifice)

Ben will find out at the end...to set up the final where Sis will go to kill him and Luke will try to save his life. I'm really interested in what happens to him cause what does Jacen do...where does he go. Something very significant will surely happen...I think his daughter will die and he will trade places with Anakin since his life no longer has meaning. Anakin will get married and have a son named JR.
