Coming in June from Del Rey is a tie in to the Fate of the Jedi series, entitled: Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith #1: Precipice. This eBook, written by KOTOR scribe John Jackson Miller should provide some backstory on this new threat to the Jedi.

This is going to be absolutely awesome! [i]John Jackson Miller[/i], people!

I wonder if Miller's involvement means the tribe has origins in the KOTOR era, or if it's just because he's, y'know, awesome.

More Sith: Still a stupid idea.

But having them written by JJM makes them significantly less stupid, so at least we're making progress.

I'm looking forward to it . . . but wondering which paperback it'll be collected in.

I'm tempted to fantasize about the Third Jedi Schism and the Vultar Cataclysm having something to do with these Sith, thinking about it. Centerpoint technology is a pretty nifty link between the two of them, no?

Either way - its JJM. It could be about Waru for all I care. :p

Wow, this might just make me change my mind on skipping the whole FOTJ series. I will definitely be reading this, at least.

It is listed as #1, hopefully he writes the whole series/trilogy or whatever it is going to be.

    Yeah me too, I wants!

It's going to be a e-comic, right? Cause it bloody well should be. Then Jan can get in on the fun.

Much potential this has, although if one remembers their readings of the Jedi vs. Sith Essential Guide book, there is a hint of another posibility. [face_devil]

    *thinks about that*

I'm thinking of a certain Ruin, Mitth. Close? ;)

You know, this is starting to sound a lot like the abandoned original ideas to make the Vong the original Sith. Just that they won't be Vong.
That would be my suspicion too. Particularly when considering that we also have the upcoming Jaden Korr book that spans the Great Hyperspace War all the way through to FOTJ. They seem to be trying to tie things together somehow, and I wouldn't be shocked if that was about this Sith tribe also.

I can't say I know how to feel really though. I have nothing against more Sith per se, though they are getting a bit overkill doing all these Sith series at the same time. What does irk me, however, is that if JJM's involvement and the Great Hyperspace War novel are in fact a sign of the age of this Sith cult, then it means they have outlived every other Sith sect... which I'm less thrilled by.

I'm currently conflicted between whether this is an attempt to build off the back of LEGACY's success with a new Sith Empire, or maybe even some kind of bizarre tie-in to the new MMORPG despite the three thousand year time difference. I. Just. Don't. Know.

So... yeah. I'll reserve judgment until I read it. Given it's JJM, I'm sure the prose itself will be crisp and the story a good one.

But I'm just unsure how much I'm going to like it as a new addition to the overall EU story. If they'd wanted more Sith threats, I'd sooner Darth Caedus have lasted longer and trained an apprentice, leading the GA for several years as a megalomaniac dictator. I always thought his death meant they were switching to something different, something non-Sith... but this is making it seem that FOTJ will primarily be about a Sith threat, not about some other threat that just has Sith in the background.

If nothing else... my hopes that it was going to be made up of all the loose end Dark Side Adepts and Ventresses and Tremaynes and Cronals has now completely evaporated. [face_plain]
Ruin? As in Darth? I thought he wasn't for tribes and followers but just ended up all "NOW I AM THE MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE!"?

You know, something about this has a strong "KOTOR" overtone to it.

Revan learns about the True Sith.
Revan becomes a Sith to stop them.
The True Sith emerge from hiding.

    Caedus learns about a threat.
Caedus becomes a Sith to stop it.
The Lost Sith emerge from hiding.

    Do I see a connection? :p

SW prose by JJM?! Sold! His KOTOR short story published on Hyperspace, so awesomness is probably guaranteed for this as well.
I'd get the ebook anyway, but if it has some KOTOR references the better. That era has so much potential.

    Hmmm.

    *thinks*

*actually goes to get the Guide*

    *pauses*

Wait... you're suggesting that these guys have something to do with the Sith who came back? The one's who didn't settle on Korriban as Ajunta Pall ordered - but instead attacked the Republic and were defeated?

Zor - did you ever open my PM?

Close Sinre, very close. But you forget one group that left and no one ever saw again. (Somehow I memerized this little fact cause I don't even have any books or sources with me at the Library:-B Maybe because I am toying with using this lost group of sith in my own story.[face_whistling])

I think Mitth is simply referring to those Sith who arrived at Korriban and then took the ship back to Republic space - and died.

Yes my good man you have it! But since there were no remains, who is to truly say they died and didn't just miss the mark and keep going?[face_mischief]

Yes, my mind is devious and far fetched but at least it can yet crank out such convoluted potentials.

EDIT-apparently it was confirmed elsewhere besides my SW vault of book knowledge that this task force is indeed dead. Perish my thought.
