It's on twitter and it's bad. That CB, Tyrique Stevenson, has already issued an apology that is not going over well. He also got a personal foul for 15 yds and gave up a 60 yard pass play. Awful day for him and it'll forever be shown as what not to do on a hail mary. The Bears were trying to steal a game they didn't deserve to win, the football gods said not today.
I saw the video and it's wild..he literally had his back turned to the QB during the play, taunting fans... Then he ripped it to Washington. Karma.
And again you blame that all on one thing....bad coaching. The final two plays for the game should be investigated for utter stupidity. As our head coach said this morning, when I saw him grabbing breakfast, fire all the coaches, especially Eberflus. That was ridiculous. First, they didn't protect the middle of the field on the second to last play, even though getting into FG was impossible for the Commanders, given the time and where they had the ball. Then there was the Hail Mary. They rush only three in a standard package, aka no scheme to hide it or confuse the Commanders like the Texans did when they overloaded the left side of the OL at the end of the game or send a zone blitz with a QB who is hurt and did not have the arm strength to get the ball into the end zone. But Eberflus is about as interesting as a baloney sandwich on white; therefore, he didn't as he did not even account for Brisker or Gordon not being out there as they should again put more pressure on Daniels to let go of the ball faster than he wants. Their coaching was just terrible from start to finish and it cost them a game they should have won. About the only good thing I have to say is even on a bad day, Williams made some throws its hard not to be impressed by along with his resiliency. I just hope the Bears don't ruin him before it's all said and done.
Yep, absolutely terrible calls throughout the game. Eberflus could have taken some blame but he never does, he just doubled down on everything. This is the 4th time in Eberflus' tenure where they had a 90%+ win probability in the 4th and yet lost.
For those who may not have seen it, here is a short clip that shows Forbes helping up the Bears players after the play. And I promise I'm not posting it for the play. As excited as I am for the play, Forbes sportsmanship impressed me more. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5bLLETq2v_c?feature=share
What I love is that Veach is doing this without totally mortgaging the future. He's only spent late picks and these are people who only have this year on their contracts. So not only are we reloading to make up for injury losses to go for the three peat, but we're still ok in the future too.
What is the deal with the hats they have the coaches wearing? Roundels? This isn't 1985, or Baseball. You can't read the things. I understand they are trying to push new merch, but you can't read them even with a camera right on the HC. I miss the mid 90s, when everything was Zebra print...now THAT was styling!
Two teams shooting themselves in the foot every drive so far. Also, so many mouthpieces not being worn tonight. Cannot understand it for the life of me.
Is it cold there? Those mouthguards can be miserable to have in when it is cold. They don't flex as much and they can make your teeth ache because they drag the cold right into your mouth. I knew a kid in high school who kept his mouthguard in a cup of coffee when he wasn't on the field, for that very reason.
Really stretching the limits of being 'blocked into' the kicker there. Probably should have been nulled.
Ref: Flag? Wildflower: I will run you over with a lawnmower. Ref: No flag. Wildflower: Good Choice. ------------------ My side hurts from laughing so hard.
This perfectly describes my feelings during that game. Considering it features my team prominently, I have to agree. "Hold on there little astronaut." - Wildflower
Cincinnati sports talk radio host Lance McAlister posted the following rant on his Facebook page this afternoon, and I cannot agree more. For a long time, Lance has been a staunch Zac Taylor apologist and a Bengals front office apologist who has often complained about fans/callers being "overly negative" on the radio and his Facebook posts. This poor season has finally made him see the light and understand what we have been saying for years. ----- My State of the Cincinnati Bengals Did you watch Joe Burrow’s postgame news conference Sunday? Did you read his face and listen to his work choice? I did. What I saw and heard was frustration and disappointment. But most alarming, I heard resignation. This organization was gifted Burrow. They did nothing to earn/or qualify to draft him …..other than lose. With a gift like Joe comes a responsibility to support him, not use him. This organization is failing him. Consider what he’s been surrounded by since Day 1. A head coach that will never again be hired as an NFL head coach. Anywhere. Anytime. A GM that will never again be hired as an NFL GM. Anywhere. Anytime. An owner that no fan base/city would ever want. Anywhere. Anytime. In Sunday’s postgame, Joe mentioned the need for everyone to take responsibility for what’s going on. Zac owns things. The problem is he keeps having to own things because he continues screwing things up. This team once desperately needed Zac’s culture creating ways. These days they desperately need a head coach. And while Rome burns, the owner and GM are nowhere to be found. They never talk publicly during the season. Why? Well, it’s just not how they do things. The GM and his band of six scouts continue to offer the coach more draft misses than hits. They’ve run out of the Top 5 draft currency for the easy picks like Burrow and JaMarr Chase. Good players eventually get big contracts. That requires an owner's willingness to keep spending in order to keep winning. See Jessie Bates. See DJ Reader. See Tee Higgins. It’s too late to save this season. No team that’s 0-4 at home, 3-5 overall, winners vs the Browns, Panthers and Giants, but losers to anyone good, is suddenly going to win 7 of its next 9. Tick, tick, tick. Hear that? That’s the clock ticking on Joe’s time in Cincinnati and his career. It’s also the timer running out on fan patience and goodwill. I see it. You see it. I think Joe is seeing it. The organization knows it. But they got their franchise QB. They’ve left the rest up to him. Admit it, you can’t help feeling queasy wondering if the Burrow contract, and stuff like the Ring of Honor and Ruler of the Jungle is just the equivalent of the Votto contract, bobbleheads and statues for the Reds. Shiny objects meant to pacify and distract. And that’s it. Burrow’s having the best season of his career. He’s the top rated QB in the NFL. The Bengals are now closer to a rebuild than the Super Bowl. Buckle up. It’s going to get worse….and I can’t complete the thought with ‘before it gets better’ Higgins won’t be here next year. Heck, what if Ja’Marr Chase doesn’t want to be here next year? Shame on this organization.
