    With Garth Maul's permission...

I really loved this Jedi, honestly more than any Jedi we've met since The Phantom Menace. His Jim Henson-like design gave him a familiar, old-school look, and his personality was different than the usual action-oriented Jedi.

I loved his detective skills in questioning Ione Marcy. While I'm sure the comparisons will be made to Sherlock Holmes, I can't help but think he's more similar to Jessica Fletcher or Columbo! [face_laugh]

I really didn't like his stereotypical old guy tendencies. Driving at 5MPH in Coruscant traffic, 'resting his eyes'... That being said I really liked his voice. And I love how TCW team has worked a cane with a sword in it into official Star Wars lore.[face_laugh]

I loved that old guy tendencies were all revealed to be the key to his success.

Oh he certainly wasn't a weak old codger. I just feel he could have had a moment where he was doing the bargaining or the chasing just to even out those tendencies. After all, he is the street crime expert. ;)

Yeah, he was pretty cliche. I didn't much care for Sinube but he wasn't so bad. It just seemed like the writers were trying to make their own Yoda. But I guess it was good to see another elder Jedi, as well as a less human design.

Best things about him: the cane-saber, slow driving, and being old friends with Yoda.

Out of curiosity, do we need all these "official" character threads? Maybe we can merge all the non-important/main character Jedi into one thread. I can see Official Grievous, Ahsoka, Anakin or clone threads, but why Cassie and Tera? haha

If you or I were as slow as him, pretty soon we'd be street crime "experts" too.:p

I really liked this character! I was a little scared that they would make a new Yoda at fisrt, but I was pleasantly surprised that the got creative with him. However, I di not like his face! He looks like a cross between a lion and a horse!

I almost wonder why they didn't just make him the same species as Yakface from ROTJ. They're pretty similar. But I still think Duros and Neimoidians all look alike.

This gets a mention because it made me 'lol'.

You mean he isn't?! He looked so similar I just assumed he was.

To express my appreciation for this awesome new type of old Jedi who's the best elderly character I've seen since the new Jetfire (yes, I like Revenge of the Fallen, but that's not the issue:p), allow me to present the following comments:

Tera Sinube cracks corny puns...because he knows you wouldn't dare mess with him.

Tera Sinube is behind every door, waiting to ambush every villain with his mighty cane saber.

Tera Sinube KNOWS where you'll be before you do.

    ....That is all. [face_laugh]:D

To provide an actual bit of contribution: Yes, loved him. Great balance of 'annoying' old-man traits (speed limits, eye resting and puns, oh my [face_laugh]) with the signs of an exceptionally wise Jedi Master, not least of which is being able to call Yoda 'old friend'. :p

Also, his cane-saber almost looked like it had a silver blade. If they're still sticking with the old credo of colours, though, it's probably blue.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Especially when they first introduced him. It was the way he moved his eyebrows I think... :p

Good call on the Jim Henson design.

He was pretty cliche, but in all the good ways.

We want our grandfathers to be wise, patient and stubborn. This was more archetype I think than stereotype.

Going by the slides on the OS, it has enough of a blue corona to be considered blue, but the white blade core is so strongly emphasized that it's hard to tell at first.

Tera Sinube is now officially one of my all-time favorite Jedi- from his old Jedi driving gags to his kickass sword-cane lightsaber, the guy's just amazing. I really love the whole idea that he CAN drive 5MPH in Coruscanti traffic and STILL get there ahead of you, because he's JUST THAT GOOD.

The emphasis on his knowledge of crime and the fact that his lightsaber is so evocative of the sword cane, a weapon most frequently featured in spy fiction and such, really makes you have to wonder what this guy was UP to in his younger days, as does his incredible- and incredibly UNEXPECTED- skill with the blade when he DOES whip it out.

Also, any Jedi who can get away with bopping a villain over the head with a stick = awesome.

PS: if they ever make a Tera Sinube action figure, mark me down for five or so.

Very interesting character and indeed, given his interest and knowledge of criminals on Coruscant and his hidden lightsaber in his cane, you have to wonder what kind of role he had in his younger days - possible some kind of undercover Jedi operative perhaps?

Interesting that he had a different color lightsaber - a silvery/white one.

I call it blue. It may look like silver due to the background...

Perhaps...but to me blue looks blue and his saber looked nothing like blue - white/silver. I think if Mace can have a unique colour, no doubt another more "unique" jedi may have one too.

Can anyone help me get some good shots of Sinube's lightsaber? I'm thinking some that clearly show it in use as a cane, when the blade is being drawn, and the two separate halves in use in battle.

Reason being I'm asking about maybe giving Sinube's lightsaber its own article on Wookieepedia under "Sword cane lightsaber". I'm not sure anyone would agree to giving it its own article as of yet, but I'd love having some clear shots for the article just in case.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought of the Ancients from Dark Crystal when I saw Master Sinube. Also, his saber seemed to be very pale blue to me, almost "A New Hope" blue. It was a nice touch, really.

On the topic of Master Sinube, there is the question of what becomes of him too....Jedi Temple casualty or perhaps escapes into the seedy Coruscant to hide.

Or he joins with his Skexes (sp?) half and becomes a crystal being...

Or an EU author gets ahold of him and inserts him into a story set 100 years later where he shows up to teach Luke (who is the Jedi Grand Master by this time) the importance of patience.

Or maybe he just retired to Florida.

Hee... what happens to retired Jedi? Is there a real "old folks' home"? Was there a more pathetic version of the Order 66 Temple assault on the Jedi Rest Home, with clones chasing down guys in wheelchairs and walkers?

[EDIT: walkers as we know them, of course, not AT-whatevers!]
