If I were to watch the deleted scenes for The Phantom Menace during the rest of the film, at what exact moment should I stop the film to go to them for each of the scenes on the DVD? Thanks so much to anyone who can help me out.

I'd watch them after the film because the deleted scenes aren't all that. They're just extensions to scene that we technically didn't need. I love 'em but really the only deleted scenes I care for are half of AOTC and ROTS.

I like the extended podrace, the bongo/waterfall scene, the probes chasing Anakin. Wald is unnecessary. That's all there is, isn't there...?

I should think the placement of each is self-explanatory. The podrace goes where it obviously goes; the waterfall attaches to the bongo arriving at the dock; the probes go right before Maul launches hafter Anakin, who is running from the probes. Leave out Wald. ;)

I disagree with the idea of stopping the movie for each deleted scene: Stop the movie, change disk, reach ONE deleted scene, watch it, change disk, back to main movie [face_frustrated] . I mean, if you do so each time a missing scene should occur, would you really be IN the movie? I would stay too distant from it and not enjoying it at all actually. Things may be different if you run the audio comment. Then OK these come-and-go make all sense but, well, changing disk each time [face_not_talking]

IMO, the only scene being worth a re-cut is the one when Qui-Gon senses and destroys the sith probe following them (He and Anakin) just after the mother-living -Here QG tells Anakin to run. I really do not understand why GL removed it: it's very short and explains why they so desperately run to reach Amidala's Ship. In the present cut of TMP, the running is not clear at all and the first time I saw the movie (unaware of any deleted scene at the time) I felt something was missing.

To Grandamiral_Franck: I hope that in your favorite deleted scenes from AOTC you don't count the ones with Padme's family? So boring, slowing and not Star wars at all in my opinion! These dinner + washing dishes + visit bedroom are so... "earthy"!

    *** EDIT
I just checked the deleted scenes list. The one I refer to is "Farewell Jira" but only the second half of it is necessary. Not the farewell itself ("can I give you a hug anni?"=[face_tired])

I am STILL to this day dead set certain, that the probes following Anakin were in the original theatrical release but not on the video/dvd. There were a few other things i think were left out too. But its been so long I can't remember what they are.

Oh-O! and I'm more than sure that it wasn't. I just KNOW it, for my "something's missing why do they suddenly run" feeling occurred the very first time I saw the movie. Yet, I saw it in Europe. Is it possible that the USA copies were different than European ones?

At least one of them is incorporated into the DVD version of the film: the Coruscant "air taxi" clip.

I don't think the Amidala family scenes are that bad but I'm talking more along the lines of showing Padme address the Senate and Dooku sentencing the two lovers to death. My ultimate deleted scene would be the Tusken Camp. However that would ruin the kid experience of seeing SW.

 There's no such scene on my DVD edition. [face_hypnotized] I know it has been shot but I never saw any edition of it.

Well if you have as much hair on your chest as that icon of Alf does than I say we acquire it from LFL.

Well I'm with you of course. Qui-Gon's "Anakin!" and Yoda's "Nooo" should occur when Skywalker is about to slash females and offspring, not warriors.
Of course I would ask GL "SHOW US A BIT MORE FIGHTING AND CUT ON MORE INNOCENT FIGURES". Here Anakin's acts would be clearly bad. It has been much topics like "I'd have done like Anakin if my mother had been tortured" everywhere on the net. If the on-screen alter ego run after women and children, I'm sure a lot of fans would take it off...

I know it has been shot but I never saw any edition of it.

Was much more of it shot though?

Nope. You are flat wrong. This was never in the theatrical release. This is delusion, just like the people who are convinced they saw ANH with the Luke/Biggs scene on Tatooine added back in.

Actually I'm wondering if I really KNOW it was SHOT, because I can't remember WHERE I could have learn this. Not in the DVD Comment I've just checked for sure.

But it's clear that the Tusken situation has been initially planed to be more violent.

In the Comic adaptation, after Anakin has killed two guards, a picture shows him going to women and children. As you may know, these adaptations are made with official LFL material, oftenest pictures of the movie itself, but long before the movie comes on cut tables.

Anyway, here's it a fragment of the original script:

"EXTERIOR: TATOOINE, TUSKEN RAIDER CAMP, OASIS - DAWN

The pale light grows. Thin tendrils of smoke rise slowly in
the cold, clear air. Somewhere a dog BARKS. An OLD WOMAN
comes out of one of the huts. She carries a pail. She
swirls it and tosses the dirty water onto the ground.

As she goes back inside the hut, a TUSKEN CHILD runs past,
dragging a stick in the sand. The CHILD runs through the
line of huts, turns a corner, and stops suddenly, staring
at the TWO TUSKEN GUARDS. Between them, ANAKIN stands
outside the hut door. His face is a grim mask. The CHILD
stares, then there is a FLASH OF LIGHT as Anakin's
lightsaber switches on. He immediately kills the two
TUSKENS guarding the door of the hut, and makes his way
    toward the others.
    "

This, fo course doesn't prove that it has been shot.
Is there anyone around who know how much of this scene has been shot but not included?

And all because of the Star Wars Storybook, IMO.

I don't get it. That's essentially what we saw in the film.

Well there's no Tusken women and children threaten by Anakin on screen.

But they're seeing him in action, I'm sure they felt threatened.
