The Popcorn Trick

Everyone knows what the popcorn trick is, right? I don't want to violate TOS and explain it, nor can I reference you to a site where you can read about it.

For those who know what it is, I was wondering a few things that google isn't helping me find:

1) What was the first movie to feature the popcorn trick?

2) What man in his right mind came up with this? Wouldn't the salt burn like all hell?

3) Has anyone seriously ever done it as a joke or had this done to them? If so, what was the reaction of the other person?

I have threatened to surprise my wife with the popcorn trick, just to see her reaction. She said she would run out the theater laughing hysterically.

 

Who has time to secretly cut a hole in the bottom of their popcorn bag without their date noticing? And without all the popcorn dumping out. Something tells me that this trick has never been done outside of TV/movies.

Ah. Uh, okay. Don't think it's actually ever been done but this post is about as much time as I'm willing to spend thinking about this subject.

 

I first learned of this when we went to see "Inception" this last summer.

I totally didn't try it.

I am happy to see that this thread was exactly what I thought it would be. I've also threatened this but my wife continually calls my bluff. The salt issue (and potential indecency charge) has held me back. I eagerly await field reports

 

No, probably only when its out in a public place and covered in artificial butter topping.
