So tonight I wore my first pair of button fly jeans. For the most part, it was not very eventful. Until I got home and had to use the bathroom.

    Pro:
The chances of you going out with the barn door open are slim to none.

    Con:
In the event of a urinary emergency, it may be a good idea to keep a pair of scissors handy.

    Pro:
They won't wear out over time in the wash, thus becoming completely useless.

    Con:
However, they may fall off, in which case, good luck trying to replace one of those.

Remember that scene from There's Something about Mary? Yeah, you can't do that with button fly. Definitely a pro.

I like button-fly jeans. Wear them just as much as zipper-fly jeans. I don't really prefer one over the other; they're both convenient to get in and out of.

Do they still make button fly jeans? I haven't seen a pair in a decade at least.

The worst is when you get your hand stuck in the zipper ones. So painful.

Once the jeans are worn in, you can pop all the buttons with a single deft pull. The slower bit is only if you need to unfasten a belt.

Exactly. It's actually quicker and safer than a zipper :p

The button fly is misleading. It lets a draft in, and it feels just like a zipper down. I find myself constantly checking to make sure my private goods aren't available for a public viewing.

Didn't Bruce Willis star in a commercial back in the 80's singing about button fly jeans?

    EDIT: Under Levi's

Back on topic, I think the following exxhcange covers al the bases:

    [CUT TO: Jerry?s apartment]

GEORGE: (bursting out of the bathroom, fumbling with his fly) Button fly! Why do they put buttons on a fly? It takes ten minutes to get these things open!

JERRY: I like the button fly.

    GEORGE: (incredulous) What?

JERRY: That is one place on my wardrobe I do not need sharp interlocking metal teeth. It?s like a mink trap down there.

Button fly is the worst idea ever.
I'm perfectly capable of handling a zipper without hurting myself.

    Well, I own about 30 skirts. :p

EDIT: I'll wear shorts or capris, if I'm hiking or wearing a jersey, or something. But I don't like pants. [face_not_talking]

You're not supposed to be handling when using a fly zipper...could lead to dangerous things.
