One of the BEST Star Wars insider articles ever. The History Of the Mandalorians covers every time period from their earliest beginings through to the New Jedi Order period. It reveals some truely shocking secrets, including what sides the Mandalorians really took in the Clone Wars, the fate of Fenn Shysa, the fate of Boba Fett's daughter, and even pictures of the New Jedi Order era Mandalorian fleet. It even has pictures and the history of the "Madalorian battle harness" used once on a Boba Fett action figure. Did you know that Mandalorian "Neo Crusader armor" (KOTOR armor) was the inspiration for the Senate Gaurd's? Or that they helped General Luke Skywalker defeat Lord Shadowspawn? Well now you do. :D

A lot of the material is known, so I'll tell you the good stuff and skip the reapeated information we already know. ;)

The history of the Mandalorian shock troops began with a gray skinned warrior race. These warriors were the descendants of the ancient Taung Shadow Warriors of the Dha Werda Verda legend. These warriors wandered the galaxy until Mandalore the First conqured Madalore (naming it after himself naturally). The symbol of the Mandalorians comes from the skull of the mythosaurs whom they slaughtered to take the planet. The Mandalorian Crusaders of the KOTOR era, were a different race entirely, and followed the Canons of Honor, a warrior code. This seperate branch of crusading warriors had their wars motivated by their religious practices. They oblitered several species such as the Fenelar, Tionians, and Kuarans. The Mandallin Giants were the only ones to repulse these attacks, and eventually fought alongside these brother warriors in the "Old Sith Wars" which included the War of the Star Forge.

We now skip ahead to the Clone Wars. While Jango died, amazingly, another of his "off spring" rose to take the place of Mandalore. He was rumored to be the last true son of Jango Fett, a savior to be.

His name was Alpha 02, also known as Mandalore the Resurrector.

A statistical anomoly, Alpha 02 posessed memories of his late father. Alpha 02 escaped from Kamino and became obessed with rebuilding the true Mandalorians after gaining partial memories of Jango Fett. He recruited 212 Journeymen Protectors, police, soldiers, and former Death Watch members. These new Mandalorian Protectors fought for the Confederacy of Independent system until they were hunted down and destroyed. Given a battalion of droids to use, they executed bliztkrieg attacks on Kamino and New Bornlex. Ultimately, there were only three survivors... Fenn Shysa, Tobii Dala... and Alpha 02. Shysa faced much persecution after he returned home, as the Protectors on whole had been manipulated by Darth Sidious. As for Alpha 02, wounded and unable to cope with his dual memories, the man who revived the Mandalorians sucumbed to Clone madness. Shysa led the Protectors afterwards, helping rid the planet of slavers until the New Jedi Order era, when Boba Fett assumed command. Under his leadership, the Mandalorian Super Commandos were unleashed to ravage the ranks of the Yuuzhan Vong.

The daughter of Boba Fett, Ailyn Vel was raised by her mother. She died when she was 16, and blamed her father for her mother's death. She struck out for revenge, but ultimately killed the wrong person, a now delirious clone in the Extrctarium Nebula, Alpha 02. Later, she worked for Bwahl the Hutt and the Diversity Alliance, and rogue Imperial Jeng Droga, for whom she hauled in the tratorous darksider Sarcev Quest.

Also of note, Boba Fett was contracted by the Kaminoins to avenge their destruction (this took place after he dueled with Han Solo). As payment for his clone leg, he was to kill the last man alive responsible for Kamino's destruction... Fenn Shysa

Boba eventually tracked down his childhood friend, but in a twist of fate did not have to kill him. Fenn sacrificed his life to save Boba's from an unknown danger.

There's plenty more information which I will post later. You may now pronouce a Golden Ewok upon me. :D :p

This one's for you Ghengis! :D

    The Mandalorian Crushgaunts:

Made with micronized Manadorian Iron, these gauntlets were, and still are, the ultimate in hand protection/weaponry. Easily able to snap throats, shatter bones and rend flesh, they were so incredibly deadly they were actually outlawed by Mandalorian society. Only a handful survive to this day and are sold for astronomical prices on the black market. So much so, that one of Darth Vader's gloves is rumored to be a Crushgaunt. [face_mischief]

The NJO era fighter is now known as a Gladiator assault fighter and is designed to resemble a Ratakkan short sword. They're more maneuverable than E-Wings and have four linked cannons and an ion cannon in the nose. They are typically slaved to a Pursuer Enforcement ship for hyperpace jumps.
