Naomi Watts, who starred in the smash hit horror thriller "The Ring," returns to star as investigative reporter Rachel Keller in the sequel, "The Ring 2."

"The Ring 2" will mark the feature film directorial debut of award-winning commercial director Noam Murro.
Ehren Kruger, who scripted the first film, is writing the sequel, which is being produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, the producers of "The Ring." Neil Machlis and Roy Lee are serving as executive producers.

Reuniting with Naomi Watts in the main cast is David Dorfman, who will reprise the role of Rachel?s son, Aidan.

    So the question becomes:

    1) rediculously funny
    2) rediculously scary

The first one wasn't scary, in my opinion, so I don't expect the second to be; although I still liked the film. I'm kinda sad Gore Verbinski isn't coming back, but I'd rather he direct a sequel to Pirates than the Ring sequel.

And one last thing, the poster is pretty damn cool.

Well there are three books to the Ringu trilogy (read them) but I didn't really like the American version to the movie.

I'm kind of dissapointed Gore Verbinski won't be coming back as director. He brought a great visual style to the one in 2002. The cinematography was great.

The style of the "tape" in the first one was kind of interesting, but for the most part I agree with Teh BenTom.

I liked the first one, first movie to freak me out since Arachniphobia way back when. Not sure how well a sequel will be able to go, especially without Verbinski directing.

I liked the movie altough I don´t think is -that- scary neither. But I have a problem with the secuel and that´s why I´m not seeing it: I HATE THE KID... Why movies present us smart-enigmatic-kids...?? they´re just stupid, boring and annoying.

Usually, in horror movies that have sequels, the sequels suck (with, of course, a few exceptions). Hopefully, this will be one of the exceptions.

According to rumors, The Ring II is not supposed to be based on Ringu 2 or The Spiral. It will be an original new movie. I believe that Daveliegh Chase is confirmed to return as Samara.

I have read The Ring by Koji Suzuki and I say that it ownz every last movie based on it. I look forward to reading The Spiral (Part II) and The Loop (Part III).

I found the first film to be the second film that really scared me. I must tell my brother that he should see it as we are both scared of the same films. [face_devil]

I agree. It's one of the most beautiful films I've seen in awhile.

Yeah, the cinematography and the music in The Ring were excellent. The film itself, however, was pretty disappointing, especially after seeing the original Ringu. The horse scene in The Ring was pretty messed up, though.

I'm not too upset that Verbinsky isn't returning considering the first Ring and POTC didn't impress me all that much. We'll see on this sequel, though.

The Ring was a great movie, one of the few films I've ever seen to actually frighten me

Although I don't know how they can make a sequel to it without it being just like the first. I'll wait till some people I know have seen it and ask em what they think

I enjoy the first one although it doesn't have high rewatchability since the first viewing is the best. I look forward to the second.

    YAy!

Yet another incredibly stoopid movie is gonna get an incredibly stoopid sequel. Yay!

The Ring sucked. Ringu was ok.

Horror movies in general have collectively jumped the shark.

Just curious why you'd say it's stupid.

I didn't like the Japanese film.

I wish they would just leave films as they are without screwing them up with stupid sequels.

I didn't care for The Ring. It didn't scare me. I thought it was really boring, up until the last ten minutes or so. Where can the story go from here?
