So, hi! It's been a while.... Haven't posted here in a while but the recent post about the Squadrons/Alphabet Squadron timeline crossover kicked my ass into gear. I've been meaning to try and work out the Aftermath/Alphabet crossover forever, so I've finally broken both trilogies down day by day, pulling as many timeline cues as I can from the text (spoiler, it mostly works), but then I had to make sure I fit all the other stories in around it (because I'm me and my brain can't help but process Star Wars in this way). There are some (well researched) leaps in judgement here, but I am more than happy to be told me workings out are wrong! (PS I still cant figure out how to properly share pics even after 20 years of being here)
Not just you - and Imgur is also hiding some of the images under a "Load More Images" button at the bottom, which screwed me up for a bit before I realized it was there. There's real good work here and I love how up-to-date it is - as a note of constructive feedback, a better way to present it might be to just put the spreadsheet itself out there as a read-only Google Sheets doc or something along those lines.
Very nice! A question however - how was it determined what the starting month would be, and Endor's position in the yearly calendar? As I get the sense it may be a bit later than in the Essential Atlas timeline. That said, I may simply be misreading the format and implication of the tabs. And was also surprised how much time Alphabet Squadron spanned, myself.
Originally I simply used the original legends dates for all the movies. However Star Wars Timelines has the start of Shadow Fall as its first entry in 5 ABY so I used that as an anchor point. Working backwards with Aftermath and Alphabet Squadron (after breaking both trilogies down day by day) let me to ROTJ happening in month 7…..far later than I had it previously which means I may now try to stretch out the post-ESB comics to try and fill that gap
This looks great, reminiscent of my own work on a One Canon timeline. I agree with your positioning for ROTJ, it does seem to take place later in the year in Canon than it does in Legends. That's one reason I'm somewhat skeptical when people say we don't have enough time for all the post-ESB comics to realistically take place. This is very well-done and I look forward to seeing how you factor in the current post-ROTJ comic series!
Hmm, that might come from the recent Star Wars Atlas book being slightly vague and loose with the dates. Best to factor it in for now, but I'm also not sure it will stick long term? Up to the Story Group et al, I guess. It is possible they will move the movie dates, perhaps to be nearer to May, typically - but that remains to be seen. What's ESB's present indicative date...?
