I'm a big fan myself. Korean food is my favorite way of ingesting spicy food. In fact, I'm heading over to Seoul on Thursday (it is a 3 day weekend out here this weekend) mainly to eat. Dduk-book-gi (rice cakes in a spicy sauce) is the bomb. I like to make it sometime. Here is the recipe:

1. Sautee some onions and mushrooms in a pan
2. (optional) marinate some ground beef with garlic and soy sauce and add it to the pan
3. mix in a separate bowl 3 tablespoons of keo-chee-jong (spicy thick Korean sauce), 1 tablespoon of sugar and 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and mix to a paste
4. add 1 1/2 cups of water to the pan with the onions and mushrooms
5. add in the dduk (the rice cakes)
6. pour in the paste you made in 3 above
7. cook until the dduk is soft

You can also add fish cake, eggs or other veggies.

Jal-muk-kess-sumnida (basically bon apetit in Korean though a terrible transliteration).

Even though I LOVE hot food, I actually have a few horror stories...

One day at work, I got Chille Con Carne from the bistro. It had a whole chilli in it. I thought to myself, 'hmmm I like hot food, why not eat it'.

BIG mistake! As soon as I ate it, I had tears running down my face, nose running... I had to run to the tea room and chug down a lot of water and milk. Was there for about 15 minutes.

Another time, and American friend of mine and I tried to order the hottest pizza we could get (this was from a local pizza shop, not a commerical one like Pizza Hutt).

It was called a 'Ringburner' (and I can leave that up to your imagination as to how it got its name), and we could only eat one slice each, and had to chug down a lot of beer! Fun though!

 

Anyone else like hot food?

I love peppers! I eat them every chance I get. It's almost scary the way I gobble the stuff up. Mexican food, slasa... hmmmm! I'm in heaven with peppers.

 

We just got a new mexican place on the other side of town called "Burrito Diablo." I haven't eaten there yet, but I'm sure it's a much fun to eat at it is to randomly yell at your roommate in an evil satanic voice.

Yeah, I heart spicy food. Chili, hot wings, all kinds of mexican food... [face_drool]

And I love kimchi even though I probably just spelled it wrong.

Oh, and sushi just ain't the same without a hearty helping of wasabi.

One time I was at a chili festival and ate these insane chile peppers that were so hot that I had to coat my throat and mouth with candle wax to get them down. Then I had a hallucination about a dog voiced by Johnny Cash.

 

One of my favorite things to get at a local greasy spoon here near campus is a burger with roasted onions, pepperjack cheese, jalepeno peppers, horseradish sauce, and some habenero (sp) BBQ sauce.

You could easily make it yourself. I do it all the time. the biggest challenge is finding habenero BBQ sauce. But again, i make my own.

 

I'll have to try to make one. Or have my mom make one for me. My family likes spicy food.

I love spicy foods! The spicier, the better! Tacos are really good... once you add a lot of spice to them. At my school, I'm well known for taking 10 packets of hot souce, and drowning my taco in it.

 

I grow habeneros in my garden, yum, yum.

I'm not able to handle mexican spice for some strange genetic fluke, but I'm a huge fan of Thai, Indian, and Japanese spices.

Give me Lamb Madras or Vindaloo, or some wasabi, and I'll be one happy camper!
