Dunno if this topic has been done before but I'm interested to know what everyone's favourite sounds from Star Wars are? Not the music but the actual sound effects in the franchise wheather it's the roar of a Wookiee or the footsteps of an imperial walker. Mine are: 1. Any sound from a Wookiee 2. TIE Fighters 3. R2-D2
Vader breathing, Tie Fighters, Seismic charges, AT-AT's, the speeders from ROTJ, lightsabers, R2, not sure what else.
My favorites are in no particular order: Darth Vader's breathing Seismic Charges Tie fighters Speeder Bikes Lightsabers and blasters.
1. Lightsaber 2. Jawas talking ("Utinii!") 3. R2-D2 Runner ups: Just can't resist liking the X-Wing Blaster, Wookie and the Thermal Detonator (i.e. Hand Grenade) sounds. Least Favourites: 1. Geonosian Gun Sounds (You know those "GAGALOURRR-like" sounds) 2. Geonosian Language 3. Jar Jar Binks voice (Does that count?) All of them are great though.
All the sounds of SW are amazing, but here are a few of my favorites: Lightsabers R2-D2 Seismic charge Blasters (especially Geonosian blasters and Jango's pistols) Canon shells The Death Star preparing to fire Wat Tambor turning his knobs TIE fighters Gonk droids Mouse droids
The dopler effect sound of a Speeder bike coming towards you, going around a corner and zooming off into the the distance.
You pretty much covered it. Vader sounds ominous. The Tie Fighters are frightening. As to those seismic charges, it's just so weird and interesting. Jango Fett is one lethal man. And any sound R2 makes will tell you all you need to know how about how he's feeling.
Who knew breathing could be so scary. The Tie Fighters are frighting. Seismic charges? Silence and then bam! Eargasm. R2! So many sounds.
Um, all of them. But just to pick a few at random: Jawa background jabber Zam Wessell's howling airspeeder Sedious' revealing Sith scream TT-8L/Y7 speaking Huttese: "Coochoo wonky mit-bee casa? Ha ha ha!"
I always thought the Jawas sounded like they were saying, "Doo-fee-bee!" Zam did a very distinctive speeder in terms of sound. He was a heck of a lot better at running away than killing anyone. Lol. Yeah, and Sidious was freaky when he snarled. I think they used the same sound for Sidious's scream in Yoda's vision. Poor Yoda! I know that this dude, Larry Ward, performed the voices of Greedo and Jabba. He made Greedo sound full of himself and smarmy, which was rather amusing. He sounded frightening, authoritative, and dangerous as Jabba. It's the creepiest "ho ho ho ho ho!" you'll ever hear! Ward was a linguist who developed Huttese.
Another vote for the AT-AT's steps... what an intimidating sound. Here's a nice link for this thread by the way. Someone on youtube has compiled long loops of various Star Wars sounds, mostly engine sounds and whatnot: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsO8fxO6PnReO6UyQMdTMM4Uu1zfQ7_xW
