Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I always heard of the radio drama but never heard it. Found them at my local library and thought I give a try. It's great and cheesy at the same time. It's a must for any fans. Lot of stuff not in the movies like Han and Luke in the tent on both waiting for help. The guy that does Vader voice cracks me up. He is funny not scary. The Leia torture is pure intense for a radio show. And to make shock John Lithgow does the voice a yoda and pretty good. Ed Asner does Jabba and no it's not in English! Ed BBegleyJr does Boba Fett and that just doesnt seem right lol. Also David Allen Grier and Meshach Taylor do some voices.

Love to hear other peoples thought on it

I remember listening to them on the NPR. At the time, it was very cool, but you're right about the voices kind of bringing it down a few notches. In some ways they were like the Christmas Special only on the radio, especially by the time they did ESB. Still, I liked that they had very reasonable filler scenes or 'missing moments' that were extrapolated from the movies. Totally worth a listen. Perry King was Han Solo. Anthony Daniels did 3PO [ I have never heard or seen anyone else do 3PO ever anyway,] Anne somebody was Leia. They did an okay job. I didn't know about Ed Asner and the others you mentioned.

I actually have them on audio cassette tapes although I never actually opened them to listen. I already heard all I needed to on the radio. Honestly though, very listenable... is that a word?

I really enjoy the radio dramas especially ANH and Empire, it's great that they expanded the stories and it was much easier to listen to seeing Mark Hamill reprised his role as Luke as he has such a huge part in the stories.

To be completely honest with you the other voices didn't bother me at all because I was to involved in the excitement of the RDs themselves to care, sure Yoda was a bit off and maybe Vader wasn't as menacing as the films but none of that comes to mind when I have my ipod on....the RD let me imagine the SW universe the way I think it should look and that's the one thing the films didn't allow me to do.

Brian Daley did a fantastic job expanding on the films storylines and none of the RD seemed out of place which was a hard thing to do seeing as they are so much longer than there movie counterparts.

Any fan if the OT has to listen to them at least once because I know they won't be disappointed.
