the best games ever, much story, good gameplay and graphic didn´t matter but was great too.

Farlander was a general in the NJO, Marek Stele is still serving the Imperial Remnant and about the others not much is known sadly.

    BRING THEM BACK!!!

Discuss their tales, missions and the continuity and locations of their games in here please. I need lists of characters, locations, if they are placed on the map already etc. and lots more!

    speculation:

what if General Marek Stele, Prophet of the Dark Side and Wing Commander of a Tie Fighter unit, still is in contact with surviving Prophet of the Dark Side Blackhole alias Cronal? Pellaeon left the Remnant and serves as GA Surpreme Commander, and we know from Legacy that much will happen and change in the Empire.

Still the Fel family is with the Chiss Ascendancy/Empire of the Hand and not with the remnant, they are just their ties to them. How will the Chiss and the Remnant join.. when.. and why? and who in the Empire is preparing things? Cronal? Stele, a pilot like Fel, one of the best like Fel? are they friends or enemies?

Maybe Cronal heading the Remnants Force research program and Forceuser training starts the Imperial Knights in secret. (prophets of the dark side train lightsiders like darksiders and are considered neutral partially, just like the Imperial Knights, and Chronal is loyal to the empire, which the original prophets weren´t => Imperial Knights = Cronal's Prophets of the Secret Order of the Empire) With Stele as his ally in a high position in the military they push for a takeover of politics. Soontir Fel sees no other way to stop the remnant from going to war with the GA again than to join the Ascendancy with the Remnant, so that chiss and imperials keep each other in check. While the Military stays under rule of Stele, and Chronal heads the Imperial Knights, Soontir is named Emperor of this new joined Chiss-Imperial government. Emperor Fel I.

But the internal revolution, though slowed down, continues. With the help if Jedi Jaina Solo Jagged Fel and Soontir manage to stop the revolution and Cronal vanishes or is killed by the Jedi. Though the Chiss do not like Jedi in their territory so Soontir, seeing the need of a similiar organisation keeps the Imperial Knights as neutral government aligned Jedi party and has Stele and Cronal removed. Emperor Fel I. and the Imperial Knights are born.. Emperor Jagged Fel II. then will marry Jaina and introduce the force sensitive Imperial Knight trained child, Fel III. to the throne. maybe only Cronal was removed and Stele was kept in office keeping his alliance with Cronal secret he waited and his descendants later would be important in the treason against Emperor Fel III.

An interesting speculation. As I'm not too familiar with Cronal and all that, I can't comment on the specific details, but it sounds like it could be a fun read. For some reason, it seems more like something Bantam would put out, though.

In any case, The Stele Chronicles are still some of my favorites stories, especially in regard to showing the brighter side of the Empire. A Stele story, post-Endor, could delve into themes of what is right and wrong in the Galaxy, and how a soldier stays loyal to the Empire even as it flies apart at the seems (exposure of corruption/atrocities, warlordism, Isard, etc).

Farlander and Rookie One I would be slightly less exicted to see again. Both of them are, at least in part, retelling/reliving Luke's story. Besides, We have plenty of Rebel X-Wing jockeys already. For a more fun take, delete thier presence at Yavin and make them bomber pilots.

Ace Azzameen I would like to see some closure on. His story ended rather abruptly, which really was a shame. None of the other X-Wing games let your character have a personality or a past. Just having family friends and a room full of cool swag made a huge difference in the level of imersion in the game. It is the one blemish on the X-Wing series that the character dropped off the map for the battle of Endor (btw, was I the only one really dissatisfied with the DSII Tunnel Run in that game? I thought Rouge Squadron II did it much better).

Well, I have the theory that Ace was one of the Y-Wing pilots of Aggressor Wing during the battle of Brentaal...

Somebody recently suggested that Rookiee One was Kenth Hamner.[face_thinking]

I remember that they also suggested that Rookiee One could also be Keyan Farlander. I say I like that one alot better, as I am still hoping one day we get Kenth equals old Ken theory made true, though I can not remember who thought of that.

I did always want to see more of those three; never found a copy of "The Stele Chronicles" but I would like to see the role Marek played in the post-Endor Empire, other than one little blurb in "The Emperor's Hands" article about him leading a TIE Defender group on border patrol duty in the Remnant. Given that I don't know how far over to the Dark Side the character went, I have no idea whether he'd be a villain or a potential enemy-turned-ally like Pellaeon - or maybe even the first "Imperial" Jedi of the Legacy Era.

I really doubt the Rookie One = Keyan theory. The two characters just don't mesh very well. That said, I'd like to see more of Farlander than the generic fleet commander role he got in the NJO, which is why I built my in-the-works fanfic arc around him. It seems that unlike most of Luke's students he's come to terms with the "soldier and a Jedi" dilemma.

As for Ace, who knows? Maybe after a few years he went back to rebuild Twin Suns Transportation - always good to see a couple more warriors-turned-businessmen of the Lando stripe.

Farlander has made a few brief appearances in the New Jedi Order books as a NR General. He also trained under Luke to become a Jedi Knight, according to an Insider "Who's Who in the NJO" article. One of the books seemed to "forget" that he was a Jedi, but that's just an error. The X-Wing strategy guide gave a lot of backstory to Keyan and explained he flew that last Y-Wing seen in ANH.

While you can't really fit the specifics of Rebel Assault into continuity completely, Rookie One can still exist. The plotline of Rebel Assault 2 has been references in a couple of places, though Rookie One has not, as far as I know. Some sources (the novelization, RA, X-Wing strategy guide) place more squadrons at Yavin, and Rookie One and friends can fit amongst those pilots.

As for Ace and the rest of the Azzameens, I'd really like to see them again. That game's storyline doesn't step on many other stories, so I don't see why they can't appear. Maybe he can show up, retired from piloting and running the family business.

Thought I haven't looked at the story in a while to see if its possible, it would be great to retcon Ace as one of the background characters in Tales: Lando's Commandos.

And there's a line in Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina: Wolfman's Story, something about a droid shouting that this [attacking the Death Star] was what he always wanted to do, that sure reminds me of MK-09...

There's also quite a bit on Stele in the TIE Fighter Player's Guide as well. Domus Publica has a very good summary up for those of us that don't have access to it.

I've always suspected that Thrawn enticed Stele to join the Empire of the Hand. We know from the lengths he went to to get Fel that Thrawn was willing to go out of his way to get exceptional pilots and leaders, and Thrawn knew firsthand that Stele was both. So long as the adventure seed in Gamer is set after Dark Tide, when Pellaeon's recall order brought in forces from the Empire of the Hand, there isn't a continuity conflict.

I'm all about some new Azzameen material. The closest we've gotten was a single Viraxo Shipping reference in Cloak of Deception.

Now that I think about it, wasn't MK kind of like a utilitarian offshoot of the HK line?

I always thought that was a reference to Captain Rex from Star Tours.

    That's more likely the author's intent. :)

But since Rex wasn't actually at the Battle of Endor---as far as we know---it makes more sense for it to be MK, IMO.
