So many cartoonists have shamelessly ripped Larson's style off, it's terrible. Some of my favourites:
The best thing ever was when actual Far Side cards, and not shameless rip-offs, were available. So good. So very, very good.
I tried looking for it, but they don't have the one with the shady guy in a trenchcoat selling hoofed mammals. "Psst...hey buddy, you wanna buy a hoofed mammal?".
I managed to have a very intelligent conversation with a woman at work about Jane Goodall, and my side came off this cartoon, and Larson's write-up in one of his books.
Yep, he's coming back! I didn't know we had a Farside thread or I would have posted that. He's only 69, having retired very early when he did. So personally, I'm stoked about an online new version of the Farside
The question is, though, does this mean we're getting new The Far Side or is this an announcement that we'll finally get classic The Far Side online officially? Larson has been very open about how he doesn't want The Far Side on the internet, so this could just be that he's changed his mind on that. I'm really, really hoping for a comeback.
