Mini Series The Trade Federation and Neimodians

Since they are returning in the Acolyte I thought now would be a good time to create a thread for them.

I would love to see how they gained more power through the Trade Federation as well as their home world Cato Neimodia. Also hoping we get to see a younger Gunray.

 

Hopefully sans the stereotypical accent

 

I think it's stuck at this point continuity wise. It'd be weird to hear a Neimoidian with an Anglo-American or some other accent.

It'd be nice to have a Neimoidan that isn't evil just so the connotation isn't universally applied.

 

I think there were some Nemodian characters in TCW who didn't have the accent, Lok Durd for example. Plus Nemodians are a species with more than one world so it would make sense for them to have different accents.

On that note, while unlikely it would be interesting to see other Nemdoian worlds besides Cato Nemodia, such as Nemodia Prime.

But mostly I am curious what role they are going to play in a shadowy mystery series. Maybe we will see them establish their economic dominance of the outer rim and that will play a role in the sith plot.

 

Neimoidian

 

I am soo looking forward to see the green aliens, Nemodians. See how The Trade Federation is now. Its not yet become greedy. The Sith not yet made contact. Be very interesting if they make Darth Plagueis a Nemodian like GL had an idea off. I hope we see more of the Nemodian security forces and military thats not droids. And their droids how different are they as B1 battle droids are modeled after the geonosians.

 

We have seen the cowardly and competent Nemodian, now lets see the terrifying Nemodian.

 

I thought he was supposed to be a Muun?

I wasn’t aware he was supposed to be Neimoidian before he became a Muun. I’m also unable to find a source for this.

 

Why would an entire race of a space-faring people have the same accent?

 

With Lucrehulk appearing in Eclipse trailer, seems rather possible that it will do the same in The Acolyte

 

And Eclispe might be 100 years before The Acolyte.

 

Also Eclipse trailer featured starfighters with big half-spheres, that are seemingly on the TF side. If they will appear in this series - now that will be a huge connection.

So maybe we get this same concept only with the pre Empire, pre Seperatist?

 

Neimoidians in the Acolyte... Wait!!



The Acolyte just got one hundred percent more interesting to mee!!!

Because its amaziiiing! Every Neimoidian MUST want to talk like Nute Gunray. I mean, if not, what's the point of it all.

 

Ugh gotta deal with them again in LA.

 

I've lived in Southern California my whole life and never once have I had to deal with a Neimoidian.

 

But does it rain there?

 

Hope that the TF will not be used just for the sake of "Sith need expendable goons really fast, so they just call to their Neimoidian contact that provides them with droids."

 

Interestingly, they seem to be based on the old concept art of the Naboo fighter, rather than the disk-like early tf fighter concept art:

But yeah those would be fun reuses of designs.

I don't know what, if any, coordination there was between Eclipse and Acolyte, but both featuring the Federation is pretty interesting in any case. And in the case of Eclipse they seem to be fighting against the main villains, so an uneasy alliance with jedi would be interesting to see.
