Throughout my many years of television commercials, I have found the one cereal mascot I've trully sympathized with, the Trix Rabbit.

Unlike the other cereal mascots who always get to enjoy their cereal, (even if they are being chased by annoying sugar crazed children) the Trix Rabbit never gets that which he desires most.

How ironic that his face is on the box and he should be deprived of his own cereal. Is it really a crime just to want a bowl of cereal? Does the FDA and cereal companies strictly enforce the "Trix are for kids" rule?

Who caves if they're "just for kids". Should only children be allowed to indulge themselves with this nutritious part of well-balanced breakfast?

I say give the Rabbit his Trix.

"Theyre after me lucky charms", says enough.

    Another sad thing:

Why do the little children always chase the poor Leprechaun for his Lucky Charms?
He can never enjoy a nice bowl of his cereal without a group of kids ambushing him. And you might notice that all they want is the marshmallows! At least the leprechaun likes everything in the cereal. We cannot sit idly by and watch the poor leprechaun have a pack of adolescents attacking him for cereal he bought with his own hard-earned money. For all we know, he may have a family to feed with his cereal. By having his food stolen by young people, he has no way to put food on the table. This problem of leprechauns being ambushed by children for cereal must be addressed and the appropriate actions must be taken.

    That always annoyed me.

I mean, it is his cereal. He invented the damn cereal and he promotes it!

Yet the poor rabbit cannot have a bowl of his own cereal. But NSYNC gets to have a bowl in that stupid commercial!

Here's what I never got. General Mills has this obsession with crazy figureheads for their cereals. Leprachaun, The Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs guy, The Trix Rabbit, even the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee can get a little insane at times. I think their marketing dept. has issues.

The Trix rabbit has eaten his cereal exactly once..I don't remember what the deal was, but they did a series of commercials leading up to it.

You know what else is sad? Even when he finally gives up on the whole cereal thing and moves onto yogurt, the damn kids take that away from him as well. I think that we should all pitch in and get this guy some bodyguards. You know, the ex-secret service types. Instead of "Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!!!" It should be, "Poor Rabbit, the Trix are his!!!"

    I've found this website.

    Quote from site.

"In the 70s, they had an election -- as to whether or not the cruel Trix-withholding children should, in fact, give the Trix rabbit some Trix. I remember voting -- kids all across America did -- and, in fact, the Trix rabbit did win the right to have a box of Trix. (The 70s in the post-Nixon era was a time of sweeping reform....)

"They aired a commercial in which the Trix rabbit ate his box of Trix. And then realized that he would never, ever, get another one."

I thought that there was another time that he got some Trix though. I think it was a christmas commercial and a little kid gives him some, I think it was in the mid80's. Not sure though, still looking.

OK, found this site that says that he ate Trix twice.

    Quote from site.

Born in 1960, this large white rabbit races around trying to get some raspberry red, lemon yellow, and orange orange Trix corn-puffed cereal to eat. Two kids, a boy and a girl, always catch him before he can eat the Trix. "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids". (The Trix Rabbit twice got to eat a bowl of Trix. Once in 1976, and again in 1980 following a box-top voting campaigns).

That link in my last post is very interesting. It has all the characters that appeared on any cereal box ever. This is my new favorite sit to pass time while bored.

You know why they keep that cereal away from that rabbit? Because when the cereal was first produced, they kept finding these brown Trix in the cereal bowls.

That and because the rabbit doesn't wear pants. He's just not sanitary.
