The Unsung Friendship Between Obi Wan Kenobi And Padme Amidala

Hello fellow fans. I am interested in leanring any details/info from any source of SW canon you guys/gals might know concerning the friendship between Padme and Obi Wan. They are indeed great friends in the PT, and I would love to explore their relationship in a fan fic I plan to write based on Padme and Obi Wan meeting on the Queens starship enroute to Tatooine in TPM. Any info would indeed help. Thank you.

"Perhaps someone your familiar with...an old friend...like...Master Kenobi."

"Its a great pleasure to see you again, mi'lady."

"It has been far too long, Master Kenobi."

"I'm going to help Obi Wan. If you plan to protect me...you'll just have to come along."

"You think...Obi Wan might be able to help us?"

"Obi Wan's been here, hasen't he?"

"What about Obi Wan?!"

"Let her GO, Anakin! LET.HER.GO."

"Obi Wan...there's good in him. I KNOW. I know...there is...still.."

 

Well, one of the early plotlines for TPM was that Padme could've had a crush on Obi-Wan. While this obviously wasn't portrayed in the film, clearly George did decide to have them at least get along.

 

I reall thinkk Padme contributed to Anakin's ultimate breakdown with her dumb Obi-wan thing. She sure doesn't understand male pyschology very well.

 

In AOTC Obi Wan and Padme weren't friends! Palpatine just said that to get Anakin closer to Padme so Palps could have something to exploit. Also, in my opinion, she tryed to save Obi from the Geonosians because she doesn't want anyone to die and she knows Anakin really cares for Obi Wan(who was pretty much his brother, just not by blood). Still, that's an interesting thing about TPM. Is there anywhere I can find out about more of the stuff that wasn't used in the movies?

 

Where'd you get that impression? She certainly seemed pleased to see Obi-wan.

 

Maybe, but I think it's more likely they didn't really become friends until sometime in between AOTC and ROTS. They barely speak to each other at all in TPM. But do you know a place where I could here about some more stuff in the movie scripts that weren't in the movies?

 

The Art Of and Making Of books are a good bet. Making Ofs delve behind the scenes during production, and the art books not only feature used and unused concept art, but also contain the final film scripts - though there are still many scenes/lines not found in the actual movie. Also check out the Visual Dictionaries and the DVD commentaries/features.

 

Yeah, I've heard the Art book also clarifies some of the stuff not made clear in the movies like that Mace actually did beat Palps(that's what I heard atleast). Thanks alot for the suggestions/advice.
