The worst character isn't Jar Jar. It is Boss Nass!

I can tolerate a little JJ but I can;t stand Boss Nass. That stupid voice and blubbering isn't funny and he looks probably the worst of all the CGI creations. Exactly like a cartoon. No redeeming features. Thoughts?

I personally really like Boss Nass's line, "Wesa ready to do oursa part!" He sounds like he feels welcome in Amidala's plan and not dismissed as being primative like the Gungans had been treated by the Naboo before.

I guess I am impartial to him. I did think that his first action figure in 99' sucked though.

I really disliked the Gungans in general, but Nass
is only there for a few scenes. I don't want to
Jar Jar bash here, there are enough threads out there
for that, but when you do the math it is:

Time on screen + annoyance = Jar Jar is Doo Doo.

I think Boss Nass is an underrated CGI work. I think he interacts really great with the human characters. Him nodding at Qui-Gon Jinn as they plan to regain the city of Theed looks very real.

Same goes for Jar Jar Binks and Watto.

I think Boss Nass is an underrated CGI work.... Same goes for Jar Jar Binks and Watto.

I think I'd put Sebulba into that list too. Watching little things with Sebulba, like his adjusting his racing goggles right as he starts to walk away from insulting Anakin before the race, show to me that a whole lot of thought went into the main CGI characters in this movie.

ALthough I like Jar Jar, I can see how he annoys people. However, I never really understood why some people find Boss Nass so offensive.

I Like Nass's Voice... But his animation is probably the worst in the Prequels.... When he is walking with Jar Jar, he just looks bad. I don't think it should be fixed or anything, It just seems like a rushed shot... or for some reason a shot that was at that time beyond their capabilities.

Mace Windu is the worst character (runs for dear life).

Are we talkin' worst CGI character? If so, that honor would have to go to Ben Quadri-Freakin'-Naros. He is like a big cartoon cookie or something.

Meh, Nass was OK. I didn't have a problem with him, except why did he put JJB in charge of his army? Not very smart, that Nass.

    Not very smart, that Nass.

The thing is even Capt. Tarpals accepted Jar Jar as General, respecting the Leader's decision. Secondly the battle being a diversion, sounds like it is exactly up Jar Jar's alley. [face_devil]

I liked Boss Nass well enough. I can't really put full judgements into his characters, though. He only appears in the movie for about five minutes.

Such a waste of Brian Blessed's talent. I would have cast him as a senator, a general, a jedi, or something cool, not as the voice of a crappy CGI frog.

    Jar Jar = BullCrap
    Boss Nass = MAJOR BullCrap

Sebulba = Cool concept. They should've stuck with characters with similar striking personalities.

Boss Nass was a joke. I mean, it just sticks out like a sore thumb in the scheme of everything Star Wars.

I remember when I first saw TPM in the theatres how poorly that script came about. It sucked and everybody pretty much groaned, like, "what the hell am I watching?"

Edit that fat ass out now.

Agreed. I think the scenes in Gungan City are the worst in SW.

When I saw TPM on opening day I was starting to get worried when we arrived at the first Gungan city scene. Not only did I begin to feel a tad bored after what was a pretty cool opening on the TF ship, but I was frustrated and confused because I couldn't understand what the #$^%@& Boss Nass was saying. Some nonsense about Bongo wongos.

I completely understand what he and Jar Jar say now, and that's actually for the worse.

Ah Boss Nass, the Richard Nixon of Star Wars. I thought he was okay, personally.

Well Brian Blessed was also at one time a candidate for Doctor Who- and even played a minor role in one of the shows produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation.

But he as Boss Nass was not annoying as far as I was concerned. Nor was Jar Jar Binks for that matter.

Nass was more annoying than Jar Jar, but neither of them was the real problem.

Well there I have to disagree. It seems a lot of fans try to lay the blame for the movie's alleged "shortcomings" on either the Gungan or Ani.

Yes, the true problem was on the other side of the camera, sitting in the funny monogrammed chair.

With decent direction, the movie might have come off in spite of the script.

Brian Blessed might have made an interesting Doctor. His character in the one episode he was in was kind of a mishmash of Prince Vultan and the BlackAdder character he had. I still say he had a wealth of untapped potential in the movie.
