Ok, maybe not a full jedi, but you must admit that he has at least latent jedi abilities. These for instance:

    1. He is always in the right place @ the right time.
    2. Except for one occasion, he was uncatchable by the empire.
    3. and the most important he is the only nonJedi to Say " I have a bad feeling about this."
    4. When I started this thread, I had more.
    5. O yea, he finds Luke, who is without homing becon, in the middle of a snowstorm.
    6. i know there are more, just cant remember.

I've heard this explanation before, and I still don't think it's true. There might be validity to the argument that the Force is using him, but you don't have to be a Jedi (or Sith) or even believe in the Force to be used by it.

Is it too simplistic to say Han is lucky? :D

My first post on the JC way back in 99 concerned this very topic. I used to think Han was once a Force adept but I dont think so anymore. I think he's just crafty and lucky.

Here's something I posted in another thread...

    -------------
    3. Luke would be dead if these things hadn't happened...

-Han hadn't distracted Vader, saving Luke's ass in the Death Star trench

-Han hadn't risked his own life rushing out into the storm, and shoved Luke's ass into a tauntaun

-Han hadn't distracted Boba Fett, saving Luke's ass above the Sarlacc pit

-Han hadn't distracted (oops, disabled ;) ) the force field on Endor's moon, allowing the Rebel fleet (and specifically, Lando,) to destroy the Death Star.

What was Luke doing? Dilly-dallying around, trying to "save his daddie" while the real fighting was going on outside the Death Star, save for the tunnel run to the reactor. Han and the Rebel fleet would have destroyed the Death Star without Luke's help/interference, "I should't have come, I'm endangering the mission!"

    -------------

[Han]"There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny."[/Han]

4 out of 5 dentists agree: Han is in denial [face_laugh]

What about the way Han dodges Greedo's laser blast in the SE? Talk about Jedi reflexes!

Didn't Princess Leia say "I have a bad feeling about this." when they were in that giant space sock puppets gullet in ESB?

I know she's cut from the same cloth as Luke, but she could still be considered a NON-JEDI at that point.

Han is no Jedi. Its just that the force is in everything. That would explain Han's "luck".

    Han isn't a Jedi. He's just a Corellian.

O yea, he finds Luke, who is without homing becon,

Yes, he uses a sensor that locates and finds living objects. See the thing in his hand when he's wandering out in the snow? That's searching for anything alive. That's how he found Luke.

Han is simply a crafty scoundrel, thus explaining his good fortune.

I used to think Han Solo was a Jedi, but that was before I saw the films,I got things kinda muddled!
I thought Han was the one to get a hand cut off,and then he was frozen and died!
I also thought Luke and Leia were a cute couple!Looking back,it's kinda scary!

Does anybody else think that PUKE-SKUMWALKER posted this thread because he wants attention? Just wondering.

Han Solo doesn't believe in the Force. He was no match for Vader in the ESB. Though I will give him credit for having no fear to shoot at him. And Han had some sort of sensor when he looked for Luke on Hoth. Watch the movie if you need that varified.

Who's to say that, had the Jedi Council still been active, that Han wouldn't have been tapped out? Don't forget that there were thousands of Jedi.

He might have had Jedi traits, but not have been discovered. That would also explain why Jacen, Jaina and Anakin Solo were so strong in the force. Two force parents, one of whom was the daughter of "the one."

Bib can probably shed more light on this, but I don't think that it's ever been said in any EU that Han is not strong in the force.

Lucas has that if Han were born during the prequel era, he would have been a Jedi.

EU-Ew! Circumstances after the fact :p

" It would add an interesting element to his character and life events."

I honestly hope it's not true. There's enough inbreeding going on between character relationships. It's bad enough that Greedo shot first! :(

NO MORE CHANGES!!! Except in EU, of course :D

I don't think that it's ever been said in any EU that Han is not strong in the force.

He was strong in the Force. Every living thing is strong in the Force because the Force exists in all life. But just because the Force exists in all living things, doesn't mean that every life form knows how to use it. Some life forms don't have the potential. Han is one of them.

Lucas has that if Han were born during the prequel era, he would have been a Jedi.

Han was born in the prequel era. He was born 29 B.B.Y. making his birth fall between TPM and AOTC, when the Jedi Council was still very strong and prosperous. If Han was Force sensitive, they would have found him. This is just more proof that Han is not Force sensitive.

    EDIT: Grrr...I hate spelling!

Hey! Don't diss Han! (Han being HanSolo29, not Han Solo :p ,though I'll get to that ;) ) What was that supposed to mean, anyway?

Getting to the point...As Han said, all living things HAVE the Force...but, not all of them have the ability to use it, or else everyone in the galaxy would be a Jedi.
