TV Discussion There is too much Boba Fett on Disney Plus!

I was sort of thinking of just how homogenized the Star Wars brand has gotten on Disney Plus and how all almost all of it weirdly revolves around Boba Fett (if you want to get granular with it):

1. The Mandalorian - guy who looks like Boba Fett. Boba Fett himself later shows up.
2. The Clone Wars: The Final Season - a bunch of guys who are genetically identical to Boba Fett fighting a war.
3. The Book of Boba Fett - Well…
4. The Bad Batch: What if Boba Fett… was a girl
5. Obi-Wan Kenobi - Step towards something different, but a Boba Fett shows up begging for money
6. Andor - No Boba Fetts, near universally beloved show

Have we reached a point where everything Disney green lights is either “guy has a LIGHTSABER” or “BOBA FETT IS COOL”?

 

This premise really stretches the definition of a Boba Fett. Maybe if you find and replace with "clone"?

Boba Fett is cool.

 

I think Mr. Bob A. Feet is a pretty cool guy. Eh kills duros and doesnt afraid of anything.

 

I would have lent more towards "she who shall not be killed off".

It's unlikely, IMO, that Boba Fett will feature in movies 10 and beyond. The Fulcrum of the galaxy that everything revolves around, that's another story - and may well be a major player in those stories.

 

You left out the dude in your avatar, who ends up with Boba Fett’s armor.

 

Did you even watch the same show? Clones appear in Andor. But yes clones or Boba Fett appear in every major show the only acception is Resistance.

Boba even appears in Visions.

 

Boba Fett and/or his fellow clones and/or Mandalorians have been in a lot of Star Wars projects since 1980. Their appearances don't seem noticeably more frequent in recent years to me.

It's actually really weird how none of those three featured much in on-screen media at all from the Disney purchase until the first season of The Mandalorian, with the exception of a few episodes of Rebels.

 

I heard they wanted to call it Disney + Boba = Amazeballs, but had to shorten it for some reason.

 

Yeah, there were clones in Andor.

 

I want more of Boba Fett!

 

Replace Boba Fett with Mandalorians and Jango Fett clones and you are right. Boba himself is prominent enough, but not as much as others. He's not in Star Wars Rebels (they could've easily put him in it), he's not in Kenobi or Andor, he wasn't in Solo, etc.

 

Boba Fett was hardly in Star Wars at all since 2011-Clone Wars Season 4, until Mandalorian season Two.

 

I’m not actually complaining, I just felt the need to vocalize this extremely niche observation I made probably under the influence of alcohol or something

 

Funny way to pronounce Ahsoka Tano.

 

If they ever do a show set in the times of the ancient Sith empires (Kun, Vitiate, Malgus, Valkorion etc.) multiple millennia before the OT era, if Dave Filoni runs the show somehow he will find a way to shoehorn a Fett ancestor, Ahsoka ancestor, Plo Koon ancestor, or possibly all three, into the show.

 

And Yoda ancestor.

 

The original bounty hunter of that bloodline had Fett as their first name. Last name: Uccine.

Boba Fett was the only major Star Wars memberberry that wasn’t slushied by the 2015-2019 blender movies, so he was leftovers for Disney+ to feature as their “new flavor”. Give them another couple years and he’ll be finished too, that is, until the next reboot cycle begins.
