These undercover prostitution stings just aren't right...

I was watching COPS on Fox a while ago, and the entire episode was dedicated to undercover cops posing as prostitutes to catch Johns, or posing as Johns to catch prostitutes..

The first one was absurd.. It consisted of a cop dressed as a clown who pulls up to a prostitute and asks for business.. I mean, cmon!! Was that frickin needed? A CLOWN OUTFIT?? That was for entertainment purposes if you ask me...

Now the second one, was a female officer dressed as a prostitute who flagged down this van with a 70 year old man in it... The man was like "I haven't had sex in like I dont know how long".. The lady asked him if he wanted some.. he said "I guess" for $15... BAM, he's in cuffs...

These individuals are already down on their luck and this 70 year old guy gets arrested for pretty much getting tricked into asking for a little fun? Doesnt sound right.. the President of the Free World does essentially the same thing (replace the $15 with immense power). I think these sting operations would serve better trying to catch drug dealers and murderers..no? And isn't this "entrapment" or something?

No. These people have a will of their own and can make decisions by themself. The guys chose to pick up a 'prostitute' and the prostitutes chose to be paid for sexual acts.
IMO, they all got what they deserved.

And I chose to watch Comedy Central instead.

 

If you'd been a vice officer in the same neighborhood for years, you'd need clown makeup to avoid recognition from the prostitutes, too.

 

It would probably be better if it was just legal. Less to police, easier to put safety standerds on and such. As it is they put way to much effort into stopping what in many ways can be a victimless crime.

 

As George Carlin puts it:

"Selling is Legal---Screwing is legal...why is selling screwing not legal? There are a lot worse things that you can do to a person than give them an orgasm!"

And I'll tell you guys like I told my husband while we were watching it (him being the moderately conservative Italian Catholic, believes that prostitution should remain against the law)--the murderers and armed robbers running loose out there, and they're arresting people for wanting to get laid and for selling sex? Give me a break. Policemen need to concentrate on finding real criminals.

I can't imagine myself ever having sex with men for money; however, if I chose to, it's my own body. Ditto for a guy who chooses to buy it. He knows he's having sex with someone who has gotten around--he should know the risks, and if he doesn't, it's his problem. It shouldn't be against the law.

Anybody want to start a thread on this in the Senate?

 

I don't think prostitution should be that huge of a deal. Sure, if the people giving/recieving sexual conduct are underage or what not, then certainly the law should take charge. But if people choose to have and pay for sexual activities with somebody else, and they don't hurt anyone in the process, isn't it their business? I'm not saying I'm a fan of prostitution, I'm just saying the police make too big a deal over it.

There are so many other more importaint things the police can work on.

And yes, that episode of COPS was pretty stupid. A clown...

Yeah, I can imagine a murder sting:
cop dressed like a rich person, in a poor side of town hi, you want to kill me?
guy in poor side of town who was playin with his gun: sure.

or there could be drug sting, the cops after the college students using recreational drugs.

Thing I read more is murderers getting captured. Even though there are prostitution stings here in Houston (they report it on the news or in the paper 2x a year), we hear more of murderers or robbers getting caputured.

 

Who's more foolish, the cop dressed like the clown, or the prostitute who accepts an offer from a clown?

I thought I had a pretty liberal attitude but I do have standards. If my husband dressed in a clown suit and tried to turn me on, it would be a no-go night. Sorry.

I once heard about a Prostitute who was also a magician.


She touched a guy on the leg and he turned into a motel.

 

And I also heard the story about a prositute who was a hitch hiker, who touched a man, and he became her ride.

 

Does anyone else here find the episodes of Cops funny where a Courtney Love-like lady with no pants and a nightshirt is running around trying to climb fences to get away? Heehee.

 

.........Well, no. I find it really strange, that most of the COPS epi's I watch, are people who are.....well, I am not gonna say it. But they act really stupid, it ticks me off, cause I judge most of them to be like that.

 

While the cops chase down people for prostitution the robbers/murders/mad men are running loose.

Of course we all know that the whole entire police force in the county are strictly on hold because of the prostitution sting operations
