Thoughts on the loved OTP challenge old flame Obi-Wan about Satine Kryze

Siri Tachi, she had been his great love.

Yes he had been sent with his master Qui-Gon Jinn on a mission to protect the duchess of Mandalore Satine Kryze.
Yes he had found her very attractive, even loving her and knowing about the Jedi-code. No love, no attraction.
Yes she had been very seducing.

Yes he had been very distracted when he returned with Qui-Gon after a short stop on Chandrilla. He had found a porcelain tea-cup for Siri and had collided with an out of control loadlifter. Distracted yes. But Qui-Gon had been too not noticing the slight limp he had.

Healer Maerhin had treated it with salve and a bandage.

Qui-Gon had appologized. A tea-cup had been his gift for Tahl too.

Tahl, the great love of Qui-Gon.

He had wandered into the garden of a thousand fountains, singing the song of the great warriors on Mandalore, loved by Satine, not surprised at all when Siri joined him, welcomed him home and joined him, hiding under his brown cloak and falling asleep.
This sleeping under the brown cloak had been the beginning of a mission to protect the Wanarian senator. Ending on Varanko he and Siri had expressed their love in a cave hiding behind a waterfall.

Qui-Gon, now united in the Force with Tahl. Telling him about his reunion. How he did retain his identity? Simple. By teaching him.

Siri Tachi, she became one with the Force during the battle of Azure.

After her death, thinking about what she had been for him he had known the secret that Qui-Gon had always tried to teach him. He could live with his memories of love. He had learned to live with an open heart.

And after Siri's death there was another certainty. He knew about the love between his padawan Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, the senator of Naboo.

Sure, he had met Satine again during the war.
He had helped her in her attempts to bring peace to Mandalore.
He was there when she was impaled with the ancient darksaber by Maul, heard her last words when she was dieing in his arms. 'Remember my dear Obi-Wan, I've loved you always...I always will.'

He had continued. She had been loved by him. But Siri was his great love.

He had been there when Anakin turned. Had fought against him on Mustafar. Had left his friend, his brother to die. Had escaped with Padmé Amidala. Had brought Luke to the home of Owen and Beru Lars on Tatooine.

He had found a new goal. Keeping Luke safe from the empire. Helping Bail Organa to keep Leia safe by sending Ferus to guard her.

He had a new teacher. Qui-Gon.

He knew that he was ready when he saluted Darth Vader. He knew about the hidden light, the good that was still there. That what would redeem his brother, becoming Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi-knight.

He was with her. Siri his beloved.

 

Beautiful reflections on a past and an enduring love.

 

I really enjoyed the meta aspect of this story. In the movies Obi-Wan is presented as the exemplary Jedi, but in profic and fanfic he falls in love with every girl he meets and you did a great job here of showing how he is still of a constant heart and also aware of his friends' loves. A lovely entry for the challenge!

and united with his great love. Just as he has learned from Qui-Gon, united with Tahl and as Anakin will be with Padmé

 

This was a sweet, touching look at Obi-Wan and his loves.

That really is the most important thing.

And I loved the ending, both how he recognizes that there is still good in Vader and how he's with Siri again in the Force. Lovely work!
