What do you think are the 3 most iconic ships in the PT? Like if you were to point a friend to a ship from the prequels, would they automatically know it was 1-3? I think the 3 most iconic are the Naboo Starfighter, Republic Gunship/Droid Starfighter, and Venator-class Star Destroyer. Yes, capital ships can be included in the mix
Naboo Royal Starship Republic Gunship Jedi Starfighter Revenge of the Sith Now if we did all three ships for each of the prequels you get ----- The Phantom Menace Naboo Royal Starship Pod Racers Sith Infiltrator Runner Up - Naboo Starship Attack of the Clones Republic Gunship Jedi Starfighter Yellow Speeder Runner Up - AT-TE - Slave 1 Revenge of the Sith Jedi Starfighter Venator Star Destroyer Wheel Bike
Hmm, when I think of iconic ships in Star Wars the only ones that come to mind immediately are from the OT (Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighters, Imperial Shuttle, X-Wing etc.). I'm a PT lover but since the PT was more grounded, literally, the ships in the PT, although unique, don't jump to the top of my mind when I think of the PT. This is definitely not a jab at the PT, just stating that I'm having a hard time thinking of a PT ship that I'd deem iconic since the PT didn't focus too much and too long on them. Nevertheless, the ships that stand out to me the most are as follows, in order of priority: 1. Lucrehulk Class Droid Control Ship (Trade Federation Battleship) 2. Naboo N-1 Starfighter 3. Naboo Royal Starship Honorable Mention: Jedi Starfighter from ROTS Funnily, all my top 3 are from TPM, I don't recall any stand out ships from AOTC and the only one that stands out in ROTS was mentioned above. Once again, I'm only now realising how little the PT focused on the ships, when compared to the OT, which isn't a bad thing, it's just how it is.
BOOM! Give this man a "Just Blown Up The Death Star" medal. Absolutely my picks, too. But there are lots of really cool designs, and, truly, I dig them all. In fact, the design work that ROTS throws up makes a nice contrast with the more luxurious industrialism and sleek, dream-like "Flash Gordon" beauty seen in TPM. The Jedi Starfighters and the Wheel Bike. Hell, yeah! I love the whole "techno/gun-metal" era of ROTS. But again, your spread of ships works perfectly for me. I suppose that's why. You went with TPM examples, but gave an honourable mention to a nicely contrapuntal design from ROTS. And if there's one thing about Star Wars I love (but there isn't one thing!), it's all those visceral contrasts.
Edit: I'm dumb. Didn't realize you asked for three. Maybe I'll add one later. These are two of my favourites: The Jedi Interceptor (very reminiscent of the future TIE Fighters) The Solar Sailer (i.e. Dooku's ship) THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL!!! -Darth Plagueis
Naboo fighter, Padme's AOTC ship, ROTS Jedi fighter. Honorable mention list would be huge. Oh how I miss the creativity of the prequel era!
Most iconic ships to me are: - Naboo Starfighter; This is actually the image that always comes to mind just by thinking "The Prequels" - Amidala's Starship(s) - Republic Gunship
I would have to go with the Naboo star fighter, Padmes chrome ship and the Republic cruiser. The queen ship from TPM was really great also... Now if I remember Padme had 3 ships. The SR 71 jet, the one shaped like a missle and the one shaped like a real jet. The missle one she had in ep 2 and 3 is the one I like.
OHHH so many! How can I possibly choose! They are all wonderful! To put this into perspective I'm bot even a big fan of space battles but the Ships of the Prequels are Astounding! Ok I will try... 1 Jedi Star Fighter Episode III (Eta) -A cool design that evokes the later tie fighters. Shame we only got one real episode with them in TCW 2 Jedi Starfighter Episode II (Delta) - I love the look of this one too, Its simple yet elagent. 3 Naboo star fighters -Visually stunning and truly amazing ships that are truly iconic in their own right. There are so many more, but these are the top three.
the Naboo Starfighter and Padme's ship from TPM.....I think even Prequel haters and the general non-hardcore SW fan could be shown a picture of those and know they are SW ships.
1.The royal ship from Naboo(pretty much the millenium Falcone of the pt trilogy). 2.Geonosian star fighters. 3.The vulture droids(not really ships admittedly but still awesome).
To my mind, as much as I liked the sequels, they didn't really have any ships that became "iconic" as in the classic trilogy. That said, those that would, IMHO come closest would be the Jedi fighter from ROTS, the star destroyer from ROTS, and Trade Federation battleship.
OH BOY!!! SO MANY TOYS!!!! Okay..um.... 1. V-Wing 2. Republic Star Destroyer-Not a new design but I love this more than the Imperial ones 3. Republic Gunship
In terms of most iconic and remembered rather than my personal favorites: - Naboo starfighter - Jedi Intercepter (either one) - Republic Gunship
To me it would be the N1 starfighters, the podracers, and the TF battleships for TPM. For AOTC it would be Jedi Fighter, Slave 1, and the Republic Gunships. In ROTS, it would be the Republic Star Destroyers, CIS Cruiser (Invisible Hand), and the Jedi Interceptors.
Like everyone, I gotta say the N-1 Naboo Starfighter. If that wasn't the sickest ship to come out of Star Wars since the Slave 1 then I don't know what is. Also, Sebulba's pod for the sole reason of the sound it makes when he rides up on Anakin's tail. I love that sound. Finally, I've always thought there was just something good looking about the CIS Bomber. Don't know the official name of it, but you know what I'm talking about if you played battlefront. It's sleek and sexy.
