Tie Fighter: A way to be invulnerable without losing points?

Hi all,


I recently had an urge to pull out my old Tie Fighter 95 and play on it again. However, the game is beginning to get difficult and so I find myself resulting to the old 'invulnerability' option more often than not. However, as soon as you do a mission with this option enabled you receive a considerably lower amount of 'score' (which adds up to get you promoted etc.) for the mission. Is there any way of editing a few files here and there so that the invulnerability option doesn't lower score at all?

I do enjoy the old promotion part of Tie Fighter and its for that reason that I thought I would ask here to see if anyone who's a bit of a dab-hand on the old modding front could see if its easily achieved

I don't think there's any way to do that w/o editing the game's executable. If it helps, I'll scout around for a site w/ TIE Fighter mission hints.

Stick the difficulty on hard.

Granted you won't get so many points, but more than if the difficult is Easy or Normal.
