Back in the day, when i was but a little boy i begged my father to buy me Tie Fighter for my birthday. When i got it, it had a storybook that layed out the story of a swoop-pilot turned imperial pilot who's name escapes me. I thought the story was great.

Any information on the story or where i can purchase a copy of this storybook would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Yes, it only came with the game, so you might have to buy the game to get it.

His story was continued in the official strategy guide.

I got mine a few years ago from half.com. That place is good for books and stuff you don't feel like competing with other idiots for.

If it is the one I am thinking about, it did NOT come with the game. It was a stand alone Game guide, and sold for twenty bucks.
You might try www.alibris.com, a website that basically links you to hundreds of used book dealers.
I picked up my copy of the Tie Fighter guide for Four bucks plus shipping.
It's a much better source for used books then E Bay. It has a bigger selection and you don't have to bid, just get your order in.

I just checked, you can pick up a copy now, if you move fast, for 2.95.
They have a second copy for 24.95. One of the amusing things about alibris it the vast difference in pricing between the different used books dealers.

Oh, it came with the game alright. First edition Floppy Disk version. Similarly x-Wing shipped with the Farlander Papers novel in the first run.

The Prima strategy guides also continued the story from the Stele Chronicles.

As I believe I posted earlier.

To clear it up once and for all:

Maarek Stele was introduced in the TIE Fighter game manual. This showed how he joined the Imperial Navy.
His story was continued in the strategy guides- they covered his starfighter career and his search for his father. Unfortunately once we got into the CD missions the character information disappeared and it was straight mission walkthroughs.

Stele also ended up with a blurb in Star Wars Gamer for the RPG. He ended up being a force-sensitive Emperor's Hand

He also has an entry in the NEGTC, and apparently there was a RPG short or something that indicated he was still serving up till the NJO or something.
