    Hi Die jedi Dogs,
Here's some links I dug up for you about Jedi stuff. :D

{link=http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=6451884&replies=42]The thread that has it all [/link]

It has other costumes, but lists Jedi costuming help links too.
    Belts w/ goodies

Food/Energy Pellets This thread has links in it to AWESOME sites that can help with the Jedi costumes itself.

Die jedi Dogs, I hope this helps. Can you let me know it this does? If not, I can do some more digging. When you've made your garments, please post it in a costume pics thread. I bet we'd all like to see it.

Are Anakins tabards straight strips or do they curve? Also, does anybody know where I could find leather or pleather to make the tabards?

They are two straight strips...longer on front and back than the outer tunic. Use vinyl. It's easier to work with and much cheaper. Also, Anakin's are a dark dark brown, but it's hard to find. Many use black.

If you are going with leather...you can get dye normally anywhere that sells leather or at a shoe store. If you want to use vinyl, I know it can be bought at any Joann's fabric store, and most fabric stores should have it. If you can not find it near you, there is with out a doubt somewhere online to order it from.

    You'er welcome Die Jedi DOgs,
My under tunic sleeves are close to my wrist not wide like the over tunic. From pics I'd seen of Qui Gon's and obi Wan's sleeves, they have some sort of elastic gathering close to the wrist going a hand width up the forearm.
    Does thsi help at all?

Well, basically you won't. It's a very broad term and not something you're going to find in your local fabric shop. Common alternatives people around here use are raw silk and linen.

Indian Homespun is a generic term used for any fabrics that is handwoven/home made, from India. It can range of being made from cotton to wool to silk, and fabrics that fit this term can ranges from (Indian) Cheesecloth to even Dhoti.

For the fabric as used for the Jedi Garbs in TPM, look for KHADI; probably the cotton or wool type, originating from India. But I doubt you can easily find it outside India, especially in USA.

For those used in AOTC, check out your local fabric stores cause the fabrics used in it varies from different countries and a number like used those for OB1's were specially made for the movie in France(?).

If you can find it, is it a good idea to make your Jedi robes from Khadi?

The ends of the sleeves on the inside...you mean the way they are "rucked", or all pushed together and crinkled on the ends?

To replicate that, you can sew the sleeves about 6-9 inches too long, then push them up. It's easier if you use a somewhat stretchier material for that part, like stretch cotton gauze (use double thickness). You can either leave them pushed up, or push them up, pin them, and sew them in that position so they're always like that. I don't know that it's really worth the extra effort to sew them in the pushed up position, but if I was making it for someone else I would, just because it seems like it's better quality.
