Title Help

Hey folks. Got a quick "poll" for you guys. I'm having trouble with deciding a title for one of my screenplays. Originally the title was
"The Death of Rose" but I don't know if I like that one. Basically its an action/horror movie. The plot is of a nephilim (half angel half human) who needs to battle a group of demons basically. Now of course that's a VERY basic view of the storyline, but I dont want to give away too much, and the plot really doesn't matter of the title unless I Called it "Pretty Ponies" or something like that. Also, keep in mind that I'm thinking of writing a sequel, so I need to choose something that would be good for a sequel as well. Also, I'm not asking you to make my title for me. I'm just asking you to simply tell me which one is the best out of the ones I have below, unless you think all of them suck. In that case, let me know what you think would be better.

Nephilim
Angels of Darkness
Key to Eden
Key of Eden
Angelic Demons
Terrible Angel

EDIT: Thinking the sequels angle, I say go with "Key to Eden". The sequel could be "Gates to Eden" or "Path to Eden" or somesuch.

i think it should be something like The Last Redemption i dont't know i think that just sounds cool or maybe for a sequal the last rebirth or something i don't know just sounds cool

 

no one is redeemed from anything though. So that title wouldn't work.

 

I liked Nephilim, because it's short and and interesting word that many people aren't familiar with... seems like it would stick in my head once I watched the trailer... and when the film came out I'd make a point to see it.

Also liked Gates of Eden for the same reason mentioned earlier - it lends itself to sequel titles easily.

I for the record do think that titles do more than catch attention. I think some more plot details would help us talk about it. Yeah, it has to sound catchy... but it should be the three word summary of your work... or provide the necessary frame of mind for digesting it. I don't know. Do others disagree?

Well the basic plot is that there is a girl who literally the key to eden, in other words she either hides the way to the garden of eden, or inherently knows it. The demons want to get her because, well, eden holds the tree of life. If Lucifer eats from the tree of life, he can gain the power of God.

And this guy, Cain. Basically his job is to stop the demons. However, Lucifer gets to Rose and kills her, bringing her into hell. (hence the original title of "the death of rose.") So basically Cain now has to battle these demons and stop them from reaching eden and releasing hell on earth.

Unfortunately, I can't say anymore since a couple of producers may be looking at it, and I want to protect my intellectual property. So that's why I can't really expound on it or send people outlines and all that jazz.


So i think, probably the best titles that I've come up would be :

Nephilim
Key to Eden
or
Key of Eden.


What do you guys think?

 

How about Aegis of Eden or something? Of the three choices you've just given us, I'd say to go with Nephilim. The of's and to's in the titles take something away from the meaning, to me. I don't know, I guess it makes it feel more like a description than a name for me. Also, Nephilim is probably not a widely used movie title, so you have your points for originality already. XP

 

aegis wouldn't work because aegis is usually used to describe the protection of SOMEONE, not SOMETHING. I think I'll go with Nephilim. If any of you don't know what a nephilim is (im not sure if i explained this in my first post or not), they are biblical beings that were the children of a fallen angel and a human woman. Most of the books they're in aren't in the christian bibles, but they are described in Genins, and Deuteronomy and Samuel I believe.

 

I like Angel of Darkness personally.

 

Out of those titles given, "Key to Eden" catches my attention the most. It gives a hint about the plot itself while providing an air of mystery.

 

I like Nephilim....it's dark & nasty. To your point, yes, it's "biblical"ish....it comes from Torah. The word alone makes me want to see something involving hell...and well, this.
