SPOILERS FOR RECANT EPISODE So not only does neither Kanan nor Ezra die in the finale, but Ahsoka makes an appearance in the end, who im sure is going to become a reoccurring character in season 2. So that makes 3 force users on the side of the light, within Rebels (not including yoda's "appearance"). There is of course the possibility that maybe the writers will introduce others in future seasons (I would not be surprised since they love giving us movie characters, if we got to see a bit of Obiwan on tatooine). Do you think they are giving us to many "jedi" at one time? Should they have killed one of them off, before introducing another? What is your opinion on Ahsoka, Kanan, and Ezra being all alive and working together in the same time?
This feels like a duplicate of the discussion we have been having in this thread about Filoni's comments about other factions of force users possibly existing. But anyways, to answer your question no. Ahsoka is the most trained of the three. Kanan and Ezra will continue to be fairly under developed as Jedi go, and as such IMO sub-par light force users in comparison to Ahsoka. That could change I guess, but it would take some time. I also agree that Ahsoka will most likely be in a recurring role in the next season, but I am hoping that when she does appear it isn't to showcase her prowess in the abilities of the force. Even then, the argument could be made that her training (even though we don't know what she was doing since she left the Order) is still incomplete. IMO, we are at the maximum of light force users we will have at any single period within the show. Adding anymore would IMO shift importance away from the non-force using rebels if handled poorly. If other Jedi of the Old Order are introduced in the show, I doubt they will stick around long and could either meet a grizzly end at the hand of Vader or an Inquisitor (if skilled enough). I mean the Empire will have to have a victory in hunting Jedi eventually to be shown on screen, and could include any of the current force users in the rebellion. Quick note though, Kenobi should not appear on this show at all and Yoda's voice was already pushing it.
The point is, Vader and Sidious deliberately keep all dark side users (Inquisitors, for example) not that powerful in order to protect their position. Secondly, whilst we're being introduced to more light sides force users, only one stands a chance against Vader (and that's Luke). And, in fairness, Obi-wan does states in ANH that not all the Jedi Knights were killed by the Empire.
We don't have a single Jedi Knight except for Obi-Wan and Yoda, neither of whom get involved in the Rebellion if they stick to OT canon. Kanan was just a padawan when the order fell, Ezra is still in training, Ahsoka quit before she passed any kind of test and with the whole 'whitesabre' deal I don't think she's going to be sticking too rigidly to the old-school, she'll find her own path. In terms of power, unless Obi or Yoda DO get involved (unlikely) Vader alone is far more powerful than all three of them combined thus far, so I don't think it's going to be an issue. Would rather not see any others getting involved, except possibly Ventress who like Ahsoka is more 'grey' than dark or light... she just got there from the other direction.
Exactly. Best to view Obi-Wan and Yoda as the Council in exile. Anyone else (unless Windu returns from the dead) is not a true Jedi. Vader's first scene in Rebels (the bonus), seems to suggest all the true Jedi Knights and Masters are now dead. The remain survivors are probably former padawans and younglings, who are no real threat to the Empire. After all, the Inquisitor was more interested in the identity of Fulcrum than Kanan himself.
