Tony Gilroy would be perfect to canonize the Vong

After Andor I could easily imagine him to do this in a great way. One that makes the Vong Invasion canon in a way faithful to the NJO novels.

EDIT Let’s not put creators on pedestals and throw incongruous ideas their way.

The Praetorite Vong meetings' portrayal would certainly be great.

“The True Way is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. The infidels need for technology is so desperate because it is unnatural.”

If Rogue One and Andor proved one thing that would be that you never should say never...

I do like the Vong, but they do seem far removed from the more grounded side of things that is Gilroy's forte.

Not necessarily, considering how similar they are to the Maya and Aztecs. Seems that they *are* grounded. Just to the past.

Plus, for all of Andor's many many strengths, there were like... two non-humans in the entire series. He's good at showing how people fight against fascist people, but I dunno if a big alien invasion would really be his wheelhouse.

If he considered the Vong to be Space-Maya- or Aztecs that wouldn't stop to be a problem for Tony.

I'm sure he had fun creating Space French for the Space French Humans, but I kinda doubt that same enthusiasm would extend to the guttural snarls of the Vong language.

He clearly doesn't like to work with animatronics or CG mocap, otherwise we would have had more than background non-humans.

The good thing is that the Vong mostly resemble mutilated and pierced humans. Unlike most other Aliens in Star Wars.
