The continuity here is on point, love it, and how it expands Morgan’s holdings and production for the future Empire - and her vision.

Anyone think that the female voice on the comlink was Ahsoka…?

I do believe that might have been Bo-Katan?

It’s Bo Katan’s voice (confirmed by subtitles), but we do hear Ahsoka’s theme. Interesting.

Oh weird I could have sworn a million dollars it was Rosario as Ahsoka! Well either way

I don't know why Bo Katan would be answering the call (the Mandalorians aren't especially cuddly with the NR) but I guess it avoids the dilemma of who to use (Ashley or Rosario? Either choice would ruffle some feathers...) It does explain how Bo even knew about Ahsoka's mission to Corvus.

Mention of mercenaries seems like a reference to Baylan and Shin, as well as to Lang.
A missed opportunity not to show Morgan's first contact with the Great Mothers.

Nice Bo Katan voice. You can feel the dark themes in all the episode.

Probably a general SOS that was picked up by the Nite Owls and relayed to Ahsoka

Bo asking “who is this” kind of points to that, just picks up a transmission she traces to Corvus and for whatever reason decides to give it to Ahsoka (she’s busy sitting on her throne or something)

You know, rather than comment on all six different threads for both parts, I'm just going to comment on the final one for each to talk about the entire arc. The Morgan Elsbeth story was of course more familiar. It essentially tells how she got involved with the Empire in the first place. It didn't really answer at which point she was on Dathomir to confront Grievous. I thought there might've been a Ventress sighting but there wasn't. So as I mentioned in an earlier post, this had to take place sometime after Grievous had gotten the better of Ventress and after lifting Dooku's curse. The time jump to when she's giving the Empire Intel on new designs for fighters and her planet's resources didn't explain how she came into their favor in the first place, but of course once she was in that's when Thrawn took notice. Then the final episode shows basically how we got to know her, from the first appearance of live action Ahsoka. And naturally she's the one being contacted (I assume that must've been Rosario's voice on the other end).

Overall it was a fine story; I just didn't pick up anything that was overwhelmingly provocative.

Edit: oh yeah, it was Bo and not Ahsoka. My mistake.

I don’t know why none of these episodes were really popping. They were good, but just I don’t know not that good. Or they had severe flaws that I can’t overlook and I am a master of overlooking flaws.

This was the weakest of the three episodes. I'm not sure why Elsbeth would just go and burn the forest down. Maybe she's one of those that just want to see the world burn.
The animation of the fires and smoke, my goodness! How have they continued to improve the animation so much?!
This episode seems to be leading up right to the events of Mando Season 2 "The Jedi". Bo-Katan receives the distress signal and I'm guessing notified Ahsoka to go and check it out.
Enjoyable enough but I wish there would have been more rational to Elsbeth's actions.

I think Elsbeth would be a fan of Falling in Reverse. I think this is all supposed to represent a blurring of the line between The Republic, The Empire, and now The New Republic. I actually think they should have presented "Path of Hate" and "Path of Anger" in reverse order because this gives the previous short more context.

The New Republic looks like just another crap sack world in Mando/ Ahsoka. Morgan thinks Thrawn will make the whole thing burn like the forest. Morgan has been smoldering all this time and the New Republic Senator asking her to step down pushes her over the edge. This and "Point of No Return" on The Bad Batch have the same director/ writer on them. These guys must love blowing up ships and damn that was brutal.

This was literally the only episode out of the 6 that left me wanting more.

It was a little underwhelming. I think my main issue with it was that it did not fill any blanks that we couldn't have filled ourselves before. It just repeated all the messages and plot elements that we already saw in "The Jedi" , one of the best Mandalorian episodes. The coolest part of the episode was how oblivious all the people on Corvus were about the fall of the Empire and the New Republic. That really added to a grand scale of the galaxy, where there are remote places completely unaffected by the reign of the Empire, albeit very affected by a different evil authoritarian person.

Not great, not terrible (with a Russian accent)

This definitely felt like the most direct prologue to Elsbeth's appearances in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, but aside from the fascinating interplay between New Republic diplomats and ex-Imperial worlds, this was the least substantial episode of the season. Still, it managed to be compelling enough by Elsbeth's no prisoners tactics, an echo of the oppression she herself faced on Dathomir.

Right. It was showing us that Corvus is basically North Korea.
Only the New Republic ambassador in this was presented unambiguously as a morally upstanding person who cared about the well-being of the populace on Corvus.

I liked the Ambassador and it sucked they got blown up. We would have a different story if Morgan stepped aside so Corvus could decide what they want to do. The New Republic has its challenges with the cycle of corruption and greed that make the galaxy a crap sack world. It's all the same thing including this isolated world subjugated by its own ruthless dictator. This only touches the backstory about the backs that were broken to build the bridge to Peridea. Morgan wants to burn the world. Morgan subscribes to the moral standards of an angry abandoned teenager. But she duped these people into giving her power and now she is a ruthless dictator. This is a cliche character arc. A fantasy of wanting revenge by destroying the world. The Republic, The Empire, Corvus, and the New Republic are all the same thing and can burn from her perspective. Exactly, the kind of witch the magical girl hero vanquishes.

I gave the Morgan arc (consolidating my grade for all three 15 minute episodes into one) an 8/10. Morgan's story was pretty much already told in previous venues; but obviously this gave her background some visuals. And yeah, I know for most people here more shots of Grievous slaughtering people is never enough. It didn't answer all questions (namely the one about where Ventress was when Grievous was busy attacking Morgan and the witches in her area?) but it was still a good story. But unlike the Barriss arc, I can't see any reason to rewatch it again.

This was my favorite of the 3 Morgan episodes, I liked how it gave a nice conclusion to the first 2 episodes and connects nicely to Ahsoka. 9/10

Decent episode. Seeing the New Republic reaching out to fringe worlds adds an intresring mosaic, the Ambassador was hopelessly naive though. Morgan is also thoroughly broken and overall not that intresting as a character. The shorts changed nothing about that but they did add sone nice flavour to the world. I liked the Barris arc more though.

    8/10 for this one.

I am not standing solidly on this interpretation but I am curious if the reasoning for Morgan's "random" burning of the forest surrounding her base of power is some sort of callback to the first episode, where colonized insurgents attempted to use the cover of trees to put up some sort of fight.
