Animated Shorts TOTU: "Friends" Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

Didn't like this one so much. The young jedii is quite annoying
Also parts of it really made me think of watching my son play Fortnite... Which is very appropriate when you think of the tie in

 

I actually really like Lyco Strata. He's funny and morally on the good side.

The fight against that Inquisitor was great. I wonder how many inquisitors we have in official media by now.
Too many brothers and sisters.

 

He is like a young Caleb Dume. I like him, he has his charm

 

Yeah he was the best part of the show. I am interested to see what they do with him. Him and Ventress would be an interesting series.

I couldn’t remember his name until you just said it but I am bad at names I liked him as well

 

The set-piece with the rolling shield generator was brilliant, the sort of imaginative and ridiculous action Star Wars does so well.

Was cool catching up with the bounty hunter crew from The Clone Wars. Much to my shame, I had briefly forgotten about them. At the beginning, when Ventress was talking about meeting an old bounty hunter contact, I half-expected it to be Fennec Shand.

And yes, I agree with the positive views of Lyco. He had a solid mini-arc over the three shorts, and he makes a great foil for a reformed Ventress.

Latts' comment about only jedi and clones knowing about Venator's was bit weird, sure he is too young to be bridge officer but there were non-jedi non-clones in Venator Crews and KDY personnel who built them could very well know... sure she saw the signs of jedi in him but still that is weird comment...

 

Biggest question is, she isn't a Jedi or a Clone, either... so how did she know?

Sproj, I like that better than the whole series. Now I'm actually glad I sat through the whole thing.

 

I'm surprised the Inquisitor was killed by the young Jedi. Although, he also somehow also survived Order 66, so there must be something special about him.

 

I'd call it luck.

 

The interesting thing is that for a while I thought it might've been Caleb under a false name. That would've been a hell of a revelation.

 

I'm glad he didn't have that deep voice Freddy effect like Dune did.
Glad to see him rub off on Assajj and they look like quite a pair. Maybe even a little find love in unexpected places. Another order 66 Survivor. To me this is really getting ridiculous. I always love seeing more Jedi, but at this point it seems the clones shot as good as OT Stormtroopers.

 

It really amounts to just knocking off all of the important Jedi not named Yoda or Obi-Wan. ROTS showed those named Jedi that everyone is familiar with getting gunned down and killed; leaving the possibility that any Jedi that no one's ever heard of (i.e. invented by Lucas, Filoni, etc. after the events of ROTS) as escapees....that we assume even Yoda didn't care about.

 

Its all about crushing the establishment and few surviving members are no threath

 

The remaining Jedi will be hunted down and destroyed.

Jedi clearly survived the purge but that was just the beginning of their fight if they survived that far. So it makes sense many survived the purge but not necessarily the days, weeks, months and years that followed.

That's some real Lucas dialog, you can write it, but you can't say it.
