I know, right...?! The whole time I was thinking, "Just go inside, kid, please! You won't wanna see this!" Really underscores the brutality of Cad's character, how we saw that brief flicker of realisation and then, with his crying son right in front of him, he just turned and walked away.

Also, I was too eager to continue between shorts, but after this I stopped and listened to Cad's theme during the credits. Another amazing track from the Kiners.

 

I hope we see junior as an adult and seeing him as the Marshall in future in OT era maybe Babe sees his son again

 

Dramatically it would've worked better if Isaac would have been killed by his obviously biological father, but sure that would've been too dark for pg-13 animation like this.

 

Cad Bane is dark but not that dark

 

If it weren’t for The Book of Boba Fett, I’d think they were gonna eventually have a story where Cad Bane’s son is the one that eventually kills him. Then again maybe he survives his fight with Boba Fett after all.

 

Cad Bane found his son in Boba Fett is my new headcanon

 

Yeah but dramatically it would have made it perfect tragedy in a way.

Actually, now I'm curious. What's the record for a character having more than one death retconned in Star Wars canon? Have we ever had a character come back from the dead more than once in the same continuity?

 

I really enjoyed this arc a lot. Cad is ruthless but the drama was great. The realization that he had a lover and a son was pretty shocking in a good way.
