I have seen an advanced screening of Tropic Thunder earlier today! Ha ha ha! A friend of mine won tickets by responding to some advertisement in the newspaper. There were guys in suits guarding the doors. It was very dangerous!

I will tell you that this film is quite humorous, quite humorous indeed. I suspect that as far as comedies this summer, Pineapple Express will be superior, but I can tell you that Tropic Thunder is pretty excellent. It is certainly Ben Stiller's best role in awhile. Robert Downey Jr is hilarious in it. Tom Cruise is hilarious as well, and in fact I didn't even realize it was him at first. The movie isn't perfect, but the funniest parts make up for the things that don't make sense.

Overall, it is better than what I was expecting it to be. I officially recommend!

I can't wait to see this one. I didn't even know Tom Cruise was in it.

He has a lot of makeup on to make him look overweight and hairy. He is a foul mouthed powerful agency executive. I didn't recognize him as Tom Cruise until like his second scene when they did a close up, and even then I was like "...woah, is that Tom Cruise!? What!"

That's a spoiler btw. :p They were trying to keep that cameo under wraps, though it's been around the interwebs at bit.

Can't wait to see this, though I'm really dying to see Pineapple Express.

Cruise's part is a not friendly 'homage' to the executive that he fell out with on MI III.

Also, thank you for ruining the movie for me too, Andy.

I liked Pineapple Express the first time around, when it was called Men At Work. :p

I have been looking forward to this. How is Jack Black in it? You didn't mention him.

Jack Black is pretty good in it. All of the main cast does a good job, I'd say.

This film is basically just pure zany nonsense. It's completely over the top, but it's fun.

I've been waiting for this movie for a long time. Ever since a friend of mine showed me the trailer awhile ago and I heard the Jeffersons quote. So excited. :D

    People are too sensitive.

Nothing in the film is remotely offensive enough to warrant a boycott. The jokes they are referring to are meant as a satire on Hollywood films in the first place, which is quite clear in the movie.

Saw it. It felt a little empty to me. A lot of the jokes fell flat. Tom Cruise and Robert Downey, Jr. were certainly the best parts of the movie (and that one something happening to the director about a quarter of the way through). I might like the film better on DVD when I can watch it with subtitles. Being hearing impaired, I miss a lot of the stuff that's said.

Saw this movie today and it was hilarious! Cruise and McConaughey were my favorite parts. I've seen both Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express and I liked Thunder better.
