Sounds very interesting, but I'll probably not be able to red it in Germany:(
Maybe someone can scan it and load it up... - or even Laren Traviss herself can put it on web...:)
I'm really lookin' forward to "meet" Kal :D

Sounds more interesting than HC ever was (the setting is on Coruscant man not on some backwater planet!).

this was a good story.. my only beef was that they printed it so tiny! tiny print is fine for paperbacks, but on a magazine page, it's tougher on the eyes!

Yeah, the text was a bit small. But I'm willing to pay that price to fit in a larger, longer story.

well, they could have easily cut some of the other stuff in the magazine to make room -- like those episode III spoiler pix.

Well, I guess we can't really talk about it since some people haven't read it yet...

but I'm interested to know your reactions to a certain new character, his designation, and his interactions with the other clones... ? I'm talking about N-11, aka Ordo, Karen's ARC

Also, I'm a huge Kal Skirata fan now. He's so cool. I'm also a fan of his new "partner"-- I think the two could have some interesting adventures of their own.

i am interested more in that character, especially where he picked up that name, which is certainly a connection to the others of that same name throughout history.

i can imagine that commandos and ARCs may not think much of each other, but at the same time, they all know that they are brothers as clones.. it would interesting to see how that conflict plays out.

In real life, I suggested the name to Karen, and she liked it because of its Mandalorian cultural heritage.*

So I'm imagining that Kal Skirata gave it to him. Skirata, if you've read Hard Contact, is a huge proponent of the clones having some sort of shared culture, even if it's inherited second-hand.

The culture helps define them, and gives them an identity they might not otherwise have-- poor test-tube zeroes.

Karen, you can correct me if I'm wrong here... :)

*For those who haven't played Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) or read Abel Pena's excellent Mandalorian history, Canderous Ordo is part of a proud clan and eventually becomes Mandalore himself.

I'm still lagged, folks, so don't expect much sense for another 48 hours.

    What Ryan said.

If you're finding the print small, then I'll need my guide dog to read it to me. :D

    Um...any questions?

Now you've given in and said that, I'll loosen my grip on your... er...anatomy, then.

    Interesting...

Karen, remember the thing we thought the fans would latch on to and debate...?

I don't think they've noticed it... or they're okay with it.

    Hmmm....

    [how's that for stirring?]

I read it in B&N. Great short story, Karen. Almost enough to make me pay 6 bucks for an Insider. But not quite. ;) Esp. considering the potential spoilers. *points at sig*
