Proof positive that insipid little rag is completely out of touch. Apparently they don't think portraying Nazis as buffoons is appropriate material for television. And they listed it as being worse than freakin' Baywatch! This, coming from a magazine that features a crossworld puzzle so easy it wouldn't present a challenge for Forrest Gump. Gah!

50 is waaay too good for Barney and Friends.

I'm also surprised that Full House didn't make the cut.

None of those godawful cheesypoof sitcoms did. I noticed Hell Town made the list, too, despite the fact it was a totally non-descript show that was on the air for, what, five minutes? The reason: The oh so topical Robert Blake was in it.

    Yeah.

I am angry about that too.

I guess it's not politically correct.

I get stumped by the TV guide crosswords

And lets not forget the fact that they listed Seinfeld as a greater show than I Love Lucy [face_plain]

Seinfeld is a thoroughly New York show, and I think many of TV Guide's critics are NYC natives. Lord knows most of the New Yorkers I know are gaga over that damn show.

And the rest are just gaga.

That TV Guide rating is craptastic.

wasn't Jerry springer no. 1? That I must agree with. Hogan's Heros isn't that bad though.

I've never seen what's so great about Seinfeld. I Love Lucy definately rates over it.

Is the list online? I'd like to have a look. Oh, btw, I Love Lucy was a pretty horirble show. The Odd Couple, now THAT'S a classic.

I loved Hogan's Heroes! When I watched it on TV Land. :)

But I loved TV GUIDE's star Trek features. It says this... (partial article, first and last paragraphs)
    35 TREK-TACULAR MOMENTS

    1 All Good Things...
    TNG, Season 7,5/23/94

Has the final moment of a long-running series ever been more wonderfully satisfying to its audience, more embracing of the love and friendship that the characters felt for eachother-and that its fans felt too-than the last scene of the last episode of Next Generation? .....
"I should have done this a ong time ago."
Says Troi, with perfect pitch, an evocation of warmth and sincerity, "You were always welcome." Picard smiles, begins dealing again and speaks the final 11 words of the series: "So: Five-card stud. Nothing wild. And the sky's the limit..." Our view shifts to an overhead perspective of Picard dealing. As we move higher and higher, the scene dissolves to the familiar image of the Enterprise saucer. The ship is moving away from us into space, into a nebula, into history. The familiar music builds into a crescendo, and our hearts are in our throats. Beyond space and time and reruns: friends forever.

After watching 'All Good Things..., pts I and II' I couldn't agree more. Beutifully done. Not to mention their wonderful guide to Star Trek that was sold separately and I read through in a couple of days.

TV GUIDE named the best episode 'The Best of Both Worlds, pt I'. What a great choice!
(Yes it does seem to favor TNG, but it is an excellent series.)

TV GUIDE may not make all the best decisions but it certainly isn't a 'insipid little rag.'
