Instead of the two thumbs up we need to update with the times. How about rated Imax. Its so good the movie should be seen in Imax or 3d. If its not too bad but not worth the money for Imax we can call it 2d If its worse then that we can call it rated Redbox. Don't waste your money on going to the movies just wait till it comes out on Redbox. If its worse then that we can rate it Netflix. Don't waste the time to even try redbox just wait till it comes out on Netflix. If its worse then that then rate it basic cable. Serious its so bad just wait the three years to see it on basic cable. If its still worse then that, read about the summary on imbd and count your blessings your are not wasting your money and time on this movie. Yes I understand some people don't have Netflix or basic cable but the idea is sound. Netflix doesn't get all movies immediately like HBO but they do get them. Takes a while. So tell us what movies would you say is rated Imax in your opinion? What movies are rated 2d? What movies are rated redbox? What of movies are rated Netflix? What movies are basic cable? What movies should you just read the summary?
The problem is I would give my highest rating as far as quality of a movie to a lot of movies that don't come out in IMAX. I don't think a single movie on last year's top ten came out in IMAX. Secondly, I wouldn't rank any movie 3D.
I would like to add to the ratings system. For films that you don't even read the summary. You see the title and instantly think, "no, that's not for me, I can't risk killing the braincells." This is the beezel rating.
Speaking of reviews, I miss the old IMDB when they had a Leonard Maltin review as part of the trivia section... or at least I think it was placed near the trivia section.
i agree with r1.5. i don't want to see some nihilistic scandinavian black and white noir arthouse flick on ****ing imax
The Charlie Angels reboot movie. That is one of those no that's not for me, I can't risk killing the braincells.
I agree that the gimmick trademarked and used by two dead men-- which has been effectively retired since At the Movies went off the air-- doesn't work anymore. I also think MTV should start showing music videos again.
