Typho and Panaka

Ok, so that typo thread inspired me to ask this.

Why did Typho replace Captain Panaka?

 

I think it's because Panaka is head of security on the planet and would be under Queen Jamilla at the time of AOTC

 

Yeah, that makes sense. But you'd think that she'd stay with Panaka after the trust they'd develop for eachother. For all we know, Typho could've sold out to the enemy. I'm not saying he did, but you know what I mean, right?

 

Well,she knew he wouldn't do that because he's Panakas nephew and he also proved himslef by fighting in the battle of naboo.that's where he lost his eye

 

Well Panaka Typho, they certainly had the same role in both!

 

The real life answer is that Hugh Quarshie did not want to play Captain Panaka again Attack of the Clones, so they came up with the character of Captain Typho. The movie answer is, Panaka is the head of security to the Queen, while Typho is the head of security to the Senator.

 

In other news - they both can't act.

heh, well if you say so. I personally dont really pay attention to Panaka or Typho. Tho Panaka sure does sound funny when he says "most likely they were wiped out"

 

To me it doesn't really matter who is replaced by unless Yoda is replaced and is not leader anymore!

I keep telling people...Panaka and Ric Olie were on the ship when it blew up at the beginning of AOTC.

 

Lets hope they were!

 

foxbatkllr:where'de hear that? I havn't heard that before about panaka,according to the AOTC novel,he was on naboo the whole time.but that could betrue about ric olie,I don't know.

 

I have heard that Panaka wasn't too thrilled about the amount of money he was being payed by Lucasfilm so he left. A lot of the cast and crew were being underpayed "for the privalege to work with George Lucas."

 

Panaka was on Naboo at the time of AOTC, so he didn't die aboard the cruiser. Ric Olié may well have died there, though.

 

I wonder what his last words would have been...

"I'm dead" perhaps?
