Ummm... they just released the patch for KOTOR 2

And there was much rejoicing!

 

Right now its only via the auto-updater. Here's the release notes...

EDIT: Oh, and....MOSH PIT!!!!!! Seriousky, how many glitches are left in the game now? I might actually consider spending REAL money for it.

I doubt that there will be a content patch, the last thing I heard was that LucasArts won't allow it.

Sounds like a pretty half-assed attempt to appease fans, to me...

 

It is however better than nothing.

 

I agree with Jayd. The stuff on that patch was not what I was expecting.

 

And perhaps in a month's time, there'll be another patch. I don't honostly expect them to put on a patch all the lost information that they had to cut due to LFL. Entire planets, cutscenes, quests, etc.

That won't happen anyway, Obsidian are only obliged to tidy up the engine and get rid of bugs. They're all working on NWN2 now.

 

I don't suppose there's much point in inquiring why Obsidian decided to release it *only* through the auto-update feature?

Pretty frigging useless to people in my position....

The patch was exactly what is was meant to be.
They said from the beginning that it would only patch some bugs. They were not allowed to make a content-patch.
It wasn't an "half assed attempt to appease fans", this was planned from the very beginning. It would have been the same with KOTOR, if that game had not come out half a year after the xbox-release, giving enough time to develope patches before the pc-release.

It was actually finished some time ago, but LucasArts didn't publish it for some reason, mostly quality assurence I guess.

 

Ok your not in an obligation to use the Auto-updater , people does'nt know about this , yet but ...

Nice patch. Now I can even try swoop racing. Earlier my swoop hovered ten feet above the track so it was impossible to hit anything.

Oh, and EV - you've missed the point. The computer I play my games on is my own - the computer I use to go online belongs to my girlfriend. There's about 100 metres distance between the two.

Such is my problem - or at least, until furio came down and solved all woes.....

Would it be a good idea to make a sticky about this?

Not that I object to finding this out, but didn't a puppy just die?

Oh well, one less puppy equals one less dog in a few years equals a tremendously better world.

Anyway, yeah, being able to swoop race will be nice. I just wish I saw something in the description about lock-ups during load screens.

Hm well I didn't know that some versions of the game can't even swoop race (the Xbox version?). I have the PC version, and most of those issues are either fixed already or don't bother me, compared to the larger issues. I suppose this is a good patch for Xboxers then, but I stand by my statement for PC users.

 

The patch is now available for all regions , but only through the Auto-updater , they will have it for download shortly .

For those of you who as just join us here , i'm not talking about the US version , see my post above for more infos on the US patch .

Oh please, you really think a company like LucasArts will do that? You are now talking about a whole bunch of money-minded executives who are just milking Star Wars right from the start. Now seriously, how many Star Wars games do they have and they actually are worth playing?


It is a "half-assed attempt" but its not Obsidian's fault really. Obsidian had lots planned out, but LucasArts just didnt want to give them the time to flesh it all out. They told Obsidian "get it done by Christmas, or you're out"

 

Q1) Is it mandatory to download the language patch before the patch?

Q2) For Australians, do they download the UK version?
