To start, most characters in JVC's Star Wars on NES are from the movie. Though one in particular has me stumped. In the Mos Eisley section, bounty hunters will attack Luke and Han. Of the three bounty hunters, one has been identified by name in the manual, Boba Fett (despite his brown coloring in the game). The other bounty hunter is very obviously Greedo. That leaves just one mystery character; the purple guy brandishing a flamethrower-like weapon:

So my question is, who was this guy based on from the movie? Since Boba Fett is in the game, this extends to the original trilogy. My first guess is that it could be this guy:

Either way, I have a hunch that it's a cantina denizen. The graphics also make it look like he has a long, stalk-like mouth like Muftak, but the bounty hunter has two eyes versus Muftak's four, so that's out of consideration.

He's the bounty hunter who told Jabba that Han was in the cantina over his radio.

That's a really good idea. Garindan checks off most of the features in the character. The long face and bug eyes are definitely present, along with the dark clothes. Only thing that doesn't really match is the large feet.

On the Sega Master System, even with the larger color palette, he's still tinged indigo.

Interestingly, Boba Fett in this version is all white. Whether coincidence or not, that makes him a spitting image of the prototype armor.
