Don't think there's a Jawa appreciation thread but I love these guys, always have. Jawas are one of the main things that trigger that nostalgic feeling inside when I see them, as a kid I was both fascinated and a little scared of them. So come in and discuss your love for these lovable little beasts!
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, either I and a friend, or a local talk radio station, were discussing all the different variations of television detectives - dentists (Dick Van Dyke), traumatised (Monk), wheelchair (Ironside), priest (Father something, I expect), schoolgirl (Nancy Drew) etcetera, and based on that conversation, I developed: A Detective Jawa named after one of my favourite Homicide: Life on the Street characters - Detective Kellerman; A Republic Security agent raised by humans - Hardcastle And a depressed New Republic war hero who took up pod racing for a roleplaying game on here, years ago. I dug up the podracer's character sheet from Imperial_Hammer's archived RP game, http://boards.theforce.net/threads/podracer-life-in-the-fast-line.22189862/]Podracer[/url] - Life In The Fast Lane: Name: Detective Kellerman Race: Jawa Gender: male Homeworld: Tatooine Skin Color: Don't like to say Eye Color: Luminous yellow Hair Color / Style: Oh come on. It's a pod race! Whatever style it was in before, it'll be a 'Don King Special' after. Besides, he wears the traditional Jawa cloak with the hood, but in green to match the K-Wing flight he was a member off. Clothing / Appearance: see above Sponsorships (If Applicable) that you wish to try out for: New Republic Military *If Rogue* Pod Name: "Scary Splash" Team Name: "Live Fast, Die Wide" Symbol: The front view of a sandcrawler, silhouetted against a yellow sunburst Bio: Was a homicide detective on Bpfaash before joining his mate in a K-Wing squadron - MG Flight - to fight against the Vong. Contrary to the lying IBoP records p) he didn't die at Kegan trying to save the bridge crew of a Nebulon-B that fell into the planet's atmosphere. He burned his way onto the bridge through the windows, got everyone onto his rescue shuttle then got the frag out of dodge seconds from disaster. All his squadmates though, died making a bombing run on a Yuuzhan Vong cruiser. Detective Kellerman suffers from survivor's guilt, and that might explain his willingness to strap on a pod and risk splashing himself across a race track. I don't know what the deal is with ex-military personnel keeping their rank, but Kellerman held the rank of Flight Officer although he prefers being addressed as Detective and still feels a measure of pride at the honorific.
Snokers When you are jonesing for something jawa-related, go through the game I linked, either following the pod race championship so you can be with the Jawa all the way through it, or just scroll specifically to my posts.
Snokers, AstroDroid88, Mace Windu is Awesome, BigAl6ft6 Shamelessly steals from Independence Day. This club will not go quietly into the night! This club will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today, I'm giving something to drokking do! Rather than just let this page fade away, if you really love Jawas that much, have a go at creating a picture for them, or writing something about them; could be a 100-word drabble, or a short story. I have already put together this fancy GIF below, with some more ideas brewing, though the restricted edit time, and Mods not allow repeat posts, could restrict me until someone else posts.
Welcome, Celidore You're mission, should you choose to accept it, is directly above you. Hopefully, others will have a go too.
Awwww Don't give up so quickly. I just got a new phone, so naturally that meant new text and ringtones. When Wanderguard send me a text it goes "Untinni!"
They're clearly made of air. Or they joined the Force. Or there's one naked Jawa who escaped the Imperial slaughter, running around the desert.
I always imagined Jawas like Heartless from Kingdom Hearts under their cloaks! Here's the image of them for who doesn't know the videogame: Spoiler These are darkness spirits:
That's more or less how I imagine them too but less jagged. I imagine them having sharp little teeth though for some reason... and no noses! I'm seriously considering writing a short Jawa fan fiction...
