Vader?s Debut, Musical Challenge 1 Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto
    Author: Chukles38
    Timeframe: between ANH and ROTJ
    Characters: Darth Vader
    Genre: song fic, humor
Summary: A humorous piece about why Vader could not make it in the entertainment industry. It's short, and clearly AU, but I like it. Enjoy, and as always, comments are appreciated.

The crew of the Executor was gathered in the main briefing area. The lights were dimmed and a stage had been set up in the front, much larger and spiffier than normal. The crew was baffled as to what this was about. The Rebels had not caused any trouble recently, and there wasn?t any pressing mission that they should all be made aware of. The various pilots, storm troopers, and officers were busy talking quietly as they sat in their theatre-styled seats, awaiting the meeting to begin. All that had been said was a brief message that stated: All ship personnel must report to the main briefing room on the 27th at 0900. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.~ Your loving Lord, Darth Vader. The last words of the message had thrown a few people, and now the crew?s curiosity was stirred all the more.

After thirty minutes of sitting there and whispering to their neighbors, the Master of Ceremonies came up to the stage and called for the audience?s attention. The assembled Imperials quickly silenced themselves as they turned their attention to the man on stage, holding a microphone. ?Welcome, fellow crew members of the greatest ship in the Imperial navy.? That caused many in the audience to cheer loudly. The man waited for the audience to quiet once more before continuing. ?Lord Vader is very well aware that with the current victories of the Rebels, that morale is at an all time low. So, to help cheer the lot of you up, he has put together a special show for you.? The cheers were even louder this time, as it became apparent what the men thought was meant by ?a show.? It took several minutes to die down, but when the cheering finally stopped, the MC went on. ?So, I now present to you the musical talents of our very own, Lord Vader!? The MC had to be commended for saying that with a perfectly straight face. However, his feelings were well known as he walked of stage, shaking his head and uttering, ?This is absurd.?

The audience?s response was much easier to read. A wall of, ?What??s, and ?Eh??s and ?Did he just say??s hit the stage as the lights dimmed to leave the chamber in complete darkness. After about ten seconds, the noise had died down and a techno-ish music began to play. Lights of various colors began to dance across the stage, revealing brief glimpses of four Imperial officers, all dressed in their uniform, standing on stage at an at ease position. After several seconds of the music, the four began to sing in a variety of basses, tenors, and altos.

    Mata ah-oo hima de
    Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto,
    Himitsu wo shiri tai

As they sang, Darth Vader began to rise out of the stage on a platform, which stopped at stage level. He was standing in an aggressive pose, with his arms out to his side, fists clenched. His stance looked slightly?? robotic. When the four finished, lights exploded on the stage, illuminating the five men. Vader began to sing in his rasping voice. It should be noted that somehow he was breathing as he was singing.

    You're wondering who I am-machine or mannequin
With tech from genosians, I am a cyborg man

I've got a secret I've been hiding under my skin
My heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain is broken.
So if you see me acting strangely, don't be surprised
I'm just a man who needed someone, but now she has died.
She kept me alive-She kept me alive
Somehow I must survive without her alive

As Vader sang, he snapped his fingers on both hands?a feat that was amazing in and of itself, as he was wearing gloves?while moving his hands from left to right with each snap. He also kicked the corresponding foot slightly in time to the snaps. The result was a rather catc

The last few words I'm sure threw a lot of people, lol!

as it became apparent what the men thought was meant by 'a show.'

Yeah yeah! Chicks in tight clothes gyrating all over the stage. =P~

    "This is absurd."

Careful that kind of comment could get you choked.

And thirdly was, "The show was good and all, but why was he shouting Kilroy?"

    LOL! Great ending.

The dance and song were rather... disturbing. o_O but very well written nonetheless. =D=

While few mourned the passing of their commander, three comments were heard in abundance the next day. The first was, ?That was actually a pretty good show last night. Excellently written and stunningly performed.?

The second was, ?Man, Vader could actually sing pretty well. Who?da thunk??

And thirdly was, ?The show was good and all, but why was he shouting Kilroy??

    [face_laugh] =D= Loved it. =D=

I love how he kept shouting kilroy until he just fell over and died. That was hilarious in a morbid way. I think I may have died laughing when I read that part. Hmm. I wonder how it is that I'm still able to type, then.

That was hilarious :p Especially the ending.

i think if Vader hadn't suicided he'd be in deep, deep trouble with Palpatine after that set of lyrics. Bad Imperial! :p He must've been having remorse and thought of a good way to 'resign', entertaining the crew and educating them on what happens if they trust Palpatine too much :p LOL
