A buddy of mine lent me this game since I like vampire stories. I want to play the game, but I need to fly through it since I don't have a lot of free time between work and classes. So I went online to see if it had any cheat codes. I found some but I have to do something before-hand, and I have no idea what it's asking me to do. Could somebody more computer savy help me out please? I would REALLY appreciatte the help.

"Firstly, activate the console by going to the game shortcut and adding -console after the vampire.exe'' (it must go AFTER the quotation marks)."

This is a PC game so I have no idea what it means by "activating the console." I checked and rechecked the website and the codes are for the PC game, not a console game. I'm lost. I can only assume it wants me to actually go into the game files on my computer and I don't know what to do there. I'm afraid I might mess them up.

Thanx in advance for whatever help I get. You guys rock.--FW

Calm down mate, it's not actually asking you to open up computer files. A console is basically a command line within the game which allows you to type stuff in i.e. cheats.

What those instructions are telling you is to:

    A) find the Vampire icon on your desktop
    B) right click on it, select 'properties' from the menu that appears
    C) find the text box called 'Target' in the window that appears
    D) scroll to the end of the text in this windo, then type in -console. The text will be enclosed in " marks - make sure youe enter'-console' coutside them.

After you've done this, double click on the icon so the game runs. In-game, you can press either the ' or the ` keys to open the console (i forget which, one of them will work).

The console will appear in game - you type your cheats in, hit enter, and the cheat activates. You then switch off the console with the same key you used to open it.

    You get all that? ;)

I find it strange that you can use the console , cause every time I want to use it my game freezes and I have to close it. Anybody who has some advise?

Are you *actually* shutting down the console, or is it simply disappearing from view?

If, after you've used the console, you 'shut it down' and the game freezes, try hitting the console button again. I've noticed Source-based games have a weird console, you have to shut them off totally before you can play again.

Well, I don't even have to type in a code , I just open the console and the game freezes.

When you say the game 'freezes', is it just the game, or does it not allow you to type anything into the console? Or to switch it off?

Everything freezes: the console, the game.

    Have you patched it?
